The main additions of Chronicle 2 compared with C1: the Innadril territory, the Tower of Insolence and Devil's Isle, manor, dyes, raid bosses, Zaken and Baium, treasure chests, special abilities in weapons, macros and striders.
In connection with the growing popularity of very old chronicles like C1 or C2, I too will have to take care of this matter, because I myself do not know what went on in such antiquity, and it is interesting.
I will not list all the changes in a row, such as the strengthening or weakening of some skill, but I will list all the main additions. For now we take the C1 chronicle as the basis.
Territories and locations
- The territory of Innadril (Heine) was added, which includes such locations as Field of Silence, Field of Whispers, Eva's Underwater Garden (Garden of Eva) and Alligator Island. The pirate tunnel and Devil's Isle were added to the territory of Giran.
- The Tower of Insolence, the Devastated Castle and Narsell Lake with the Coliseum were added to the territory of Aden. The location Blazing Swamp was improved (what exactly they improved there I do not know: I was not there on C1 either, and I am unlikely to be on C2). The Monster Derby Track was added to the territory of Dion. On entering villages, all the buildings they have are now shown on the map.
Castles and sieges
- The Innadril castle was added. The contested clan halls Brigands Hideaway and Devastated Castle were added. Destructible wall sections were added to castles. Trap control was added, the rooms where the seals are cast were changed, and the thrones themselves were added to the throne rooms. Restrictions were introduced on placing the clan headquarters flag (placing it too close to other clans is forbidden).
Manor
The manor system was introduced. And for some reason I thought manor was introduced much later. And with manor not everything is as rosy as in the later chronicles. Some floating prices for seeds, the impossibility of choosing the type of reward, which changes randomly, some other flaws: I did not even bother sorting it all out. Well, I do not like that kind of thing.
Main changes
- In the C1 chronicle the penalty on drop from a monster was calculated by the player's last blow; in C2 this calculation was changed, and now the penalty is calculated by the greatest damage to the mob. If there is a flagged player in the party and you used a buff, a heal or some other useful magic on them, you will become flagged too.
- When jumping from a height, the character's HP now decreases: the higher the mountain, the more HP will be taken off, but you cannot kill yourself against the ground; at least 1 HP will remain. We did not check the possibility of killing yourself against a wall at a run, but anything is possible. Dyes were introduced, with which the basic parameters of characters are raised and lowered.
Character skills
- A multitude of new skills was introduced for each class, which I will not list here; it is easier for you to go to the NPC from whom you learn these skills and look at what was added. The most important skill for all melee fighters was added to the buffs of the shillien elder: Vampiric Rage, of course. But the warcryers did not get it, alas. Spoilers got Spoil Festival, and crafters only two new golems, Big Boom and Wild Hog Cannon.
- Skill levels were added too, that is, as characters grow in level, some skills get the possibility of raising their level as well. Crafters can now sit down to craft items and sell this craft to other players; that is, a recipe book was added, and you no longer have to carry a heap of recipes with you. 100% recipes appeared for B-grade craft.
Monsters and treasure chests
- Raid bosses were brought into the game, and the trade in key materials for weapons and armor came alive at once, especially for top D, because key materials for them are not spoiled, while from raid bosses they pour constantly, and not one at a time but by the hundred. Two epic bosses were introduced: Zaken and Baium.
- Treasure chests were introduced, which can be opened either with a skill or with a key. When the skill is used, the chance of opening the chest and getting the treasure is higher.
Items and quests
- The effect of inserting soul crystals into weapons of C grade and above was added; the most overpowered of them is Might Mortal for daggers, so overpowered that it was removed in the C3 chronicle, but weapons with this insert remained, so if you play on C2, be sure to put this special ability into your daggers in order to sell them dearly in later chronicles. There is no Acumen insert in C2. Additional characteristics were added to B-grade sets.
- More than twenty new quests were added, including ones for charging soul crystals, for washing off the PK counter, for the little dragon, for the passage to Baium, and even a quest for a calculator.
Clans and other changes
- The maximum number of clans in one alliance was raised to twelve. Now the clan leader can hand out privileges to clan members, that is, allow them to accept people into the clan, change titles, look through the clan warehouse and so on.
- For fun, mini-games were introduced: monster races at the Monster Derby Track, a lottery, dice; but the fun did not work out, because players were not interested. Crystals through which sieges can be watched were introduced too. The macro system was introduced (Macros in Lineage 2: limits, the /delay command and ready examples).
- Some pets and summons were added, including the strider and the attacking second-profession summons for the cat, horse and dark summoners, and they were also granted a new cubic each.
- At last, when items are picked up or spoiled, the messages about it started being coloured yellow; in C1 nothing could be seen at all. When selling or trading you can now choose the maximum number of items handed over (the All button) instead of typing the number in digits. Pets are now forbidden to carry shots and arrows, but they can use potions.
