The main additions of Chronicle 5 compared with C4: level 80, clan levels up to 8 and clan skills, new locations of Rune and Schuttgart, Frintezza, herbs, new weapons and accessories, quests, sieges and renamings.
As a rule, few people imagine when and in which chronicles of our beloved game this or that change happened, when some new location was added (or changed), when this or that armor set or new weapon was introduced. Most players do not need it, but for the curious ones we will now correct this annoying oversight.
I will not list all the changes in a row, such as the strengthening or weakening of some skill, but I will list all the main additions. For now we take the C4 chronicle as the basis, since practically nobody plays anything lower, and we will start from it.
Characters and clans
- In C5 the maximum character level was raised from 78 to 80; level 80 was also added for subclasses, and on a subclass you can now take the third profession and become a noble. The notion of character rank was introduced, from Vagabond (not a clan member) to Marquis (for heroes and for leaders of level 8 clans). Everyone can see their own rank and the rank of any player.
- The priority of party and clan members in picking up gear dropped by a PK character was cancelled, if that character died from an NPC and dropped gear (earlier you could leave the clan hall doors open, bring in a guard and die from it, and clanmates or party members calmly picked everything up; now doors get closed, but all the same some enemies manage to hide their characters in someone else's clan hall and bring them online in time to pick up someone else's drop).
- The maximum clan level was raised from 5 to 8. The possibility of creating clan units was added: Academy, Royal Guard and Order of Knights; this is told in detail in the article Clans and alliances: creation, levels and structure. Clan reputation points were introduced, and clan skills, which work depending on the rank of the clan member. If the clan reputation is below zero, the clan skills stop working until the reputation becomes positive again. The maximum number of clans in an alliance was reduced to three. The penalty for leaving a clan was reduced from 5 days to 1.
- New hero skills were introduced: Heroic Miracle, Heroic Berserker, Heroic Valor, Heroic Grandeur and Heroic Dread. Very many new skills were added, including very important ones that downright changed the game for some classes, for example Clarity, Mana Burn, Turn Undead, Greater Might/Shield and of course Zealot. The drop of all the books for learning the new skills was put into the mobs of the Frozen Labyrinth.
- The stats responsible for landing some debuffs were changed: for poison it is now not MEN but CON (so that is why I keep wondering that mobs constantly hang poison on me, while my small characters have CON cut by shop dyes to -12), and for abnormal statuses and some kinds of magic it is not WIT but MEN.
The world and its monsters
- The territory of the dwarves is now connected with the main continent, and you can run there on foot. New locations were added to the territory of Rune: Pagan Temple, Stakato Nest, Monastery of Silence. New locations were added to the territory of Schuttgart: Den of Evil, Plunderous Plains, Frozen Labyrinth, Ice Queen's Castle, Crypts of Disgrace, Pavel Ruins, Archaic Laboratory.
- The AI of mobs was reworked: now they can use the abilities that were added to them. The epic boss Frintezza was added. Raid boss eggs from C to A grade were added to the drop of raid bosses 40+: the A-grade eggs can be used for learning clan skills, the C and B-grade ones for trade with the Adventure Guildsmen in various towns.
- In some hunting zones so-called herbs were added to the drop of mobs: two-minute buffs of instant action, so that solo players without a buff could level more easily. Herbs are equivalent to the maximum levels of player buffs: they raise casting speed, attack speed, empower and so on. There are also herbs that partly or fully restore the character's HP or MP.
Weapons, armor and accessories
- The cursed weapon
Demonic Sword Zariche was added. Bonuses for enchanting armor sets to +6 were added. - New weapons from D to A grade were added; I will not list them all, only the most significant. D grade: nothing new was added to top D. C grade: the
Mysterious Sword, a magic sword of the level of the low Luxury Shop weapons that can take an Acumen special ability, the top C two-handed hammer
Dwarven Hammer, the top C magic blunt
Ecliptic Axe and the top C magic sword
Ecliptic Sword. - B grade: the top B two-hander
Guardian Sword, the top B one-handed magic sword Wizard's Tear, the top B two-handed axe
Star Buster, the low B two-handed axe
Ice Storm Hammer, the low B one-handed magic blunt
Spell Breaker, the top B one-handed magic blunt Kaim Vanul's Bones. - A grade: the low A one-handed magic blunt
Spiritual Eye, the top A one-handed magic blunt
Flaming Dragon Skull, the low A two-handed axe
Destroyer Hammer, the top A two-handed axe
Doom Crusher, the low A two-handed sword
Infernal Master. The quest Fate's Whisper was amended accordingly, so that the new top B weapons can be handed in and the new low A weapons received. Recipes and key materials for the new weapons were added to the drop of mobs, although the Koreans completely forgot about some of them (such as the Star Buster). - Sets for academy members were added: Clan Oath Heavy Set, Clan Oath Light Set and Clan Oath Magic Set, with the corresponding quests for clan armor. New accessories were added (as many as 12), some of which can be crafted. Recipes for A-grade gear, which earlier could be obtained only by quests, were added to the drop and spoil of mobs.
- Night fishing was added; the drop of night fish includes key materials for crafting the accessories I wrote about above. The recipes for these accessories were added to clan halls, the rarest and most wanted ones to the contested clan halls. Fisherman's Potions were added, which lower the fishing level so that a high-level character could catch small fish, although these items do not work on a single free server. After lowering the fishing level the original level can be restored with a Fishing Potion.
Quests
- New quests for clan reputation were added. A multitude of quests were added in the new locations.
- Above the NPCs that give quests for which your level fits, an exclamation mark now appears, so that you could notice it and do the quest. An orange exclamation mark shows that the quest is ordinary, a profession quest and so on. A blue exclamation mark shows that it is a clan quest, a pet quest and so on.
- Six raid bosses were given the ability to charge a soul crystal from level 10 to levels 11 and 12 in the quest Enhance Your Weapon. New mobs were added to the quest Coins of Magic. Now the items of this quest drop not only to the one who finishes the mob off, but to any party member who has taken the quest (randomly, one item to somebody in the party).
- Recipes of the new A-grade weapons were added to the quest Kail's Magic Coin. Key materials for the new A-grade weapons were added to the quest Stolen Dignity. The NPCs giving the reward for the quests for Tateossian jewelry recipes were changed: now they are Brewer Valentine and Warehouse Keeper Lietta (both in Goddard).
Interface, sieges and the rest
- A lock for the quick access panel was added, in the form of an open or closed padlock. Creating a command channel was allowed to someone who is not a clan leader. A function of teleporting all the characters of the command channel to the boss was added (Frintezza).
- Rights of priority drop were set for the use of a command channel: Antharas, when the leader of a command channel with 255 members enters the lair; Valakas, when the leader of a command channel with 99 members enters the lair (in my opinion it should be the other way round, but that is exactly how it is written in the patch notes); Baium, when the leader of a command channel with 54 members goes inside and wakes Baium up.
- New castles were added: Rune Castle and Schuttgart Castle. Clan halls were added to the towns: seven to Rune and four to Schuttgart. Contested clan halls were added: Wild Beast Reserve, Fortress of the Dead and Rainbow Springs Chateau. The raid boss Triols Leader Benom was settled in the basement of Rune Castle.
- All sieges are now held only during the Seven Signs victory period. During the victory period the losing side can enter the rift through the outer Gatekeeper Ziggurat in any catacombs or necropolises; a certain amount of adena is charged for the passage. In connection with the appearance of the Rune and Schuttgart castles, seeds of these territories were added; on the territory of the orcs and dwarves the Schuttgart seeds work.
- Now a servitor cannot be unsummoned during a fight (in C4 that could be done). Armor for baby pets (Baby Cougar, Baby Kookaburra and Baby Buffalo) appeared on sale at the pet managers. If a player is disconnected at such raid bosses as Antharas, Zaken, Baium, Anakim, Lilith, Valakas or Frintezza, then after relogging they will be moved to the nearest town. If the disconnect happens because the server went down, the player will not be moved to town, provided they manage to enter the game within 30 minutes after the server is brought up.
