How to check for yourself how skills, quests and augmentation work on the test server of a build: the basic GM commands, the IDs of all third professions, of the main sets, weapons and consumables, and how to find any ID in the admin panel.
All of us from time to time see on server forums a situation where players begin accusing the admins of having broken something on the server, or set it up wrongly, or in general of doing something wrong and in the wrong place. This concerns the work of skills, of augmentation, of quests, the behaviour of mobs, and much else. Players accuse the admins of having cut something precisely in the settings; the admins swear they did nothing. In this case it will be useful to go to the test server of the build that your server runs and check everything yourselves.
The thing is that all sellers of decent builds, whether PTS or Java, keep online a test server of the build they sell, so that potential clients could come in and look at how playable the build is. We do not need that, but we can make use of the fact that anybody can enter the test server and check there everything we need. We go to the site of the build that has to be tested, download and install the patch, see how registration works, and enter the test server.
Basic commands
All GM commands are entered into the chat window through a double slash //. Before applying a command to yourself, you have to take yourself in target. Sometimes this does not work; then you first have to take some NPC or mob in target, and only then yourself. Besides, some commands will not go through on you while you are invisible. First of all we take admin rights:
- //gmon gives admin rights, invisibility, GM run, immortality and something else. If you came to test some strike skills, do not forget to switch the admin rights off before the test with the command //gmoff.
- //hide on is the invisibility mode. //hide off leaves the invisibility mode; if some GM command did not go through on you, you have to come out of invisibility.
To summon items, add skills and so on, you need to know the ID of the item or skill or whatever; I will give the main IDs here, and below I will tell how to find them out in the game itself.
If you need to look at some location, the placement of mobs or some other things on the ground not connected with farming mobs and the character's level, you take GM rights, switch on the invisibility mode and can already run about your business: nobody sees you, and you can run fast.
Class, level and skills
To test skills you have to assign the character a class, raise its level to the needed one and add all the skills for that level. You take yourself in target (or a friend, if you are testing with somebody) and enter these commands:
- //setparam level 80: instead of 80 you can write any level from 1 to 80, the one you need. //setclass ID assigns a class to the character in target; instead of ID write the number of the class. //set_skill_all adds to the character in target all the skills that this class should have at this level.
- The IDs of all the third professions in the game, so that you could set the needed class at once: Duelist 88, Dreadnought 89, Phoenix Knight 90, Hell Knight 91, Sagittarius 92, Adventurer 93, Archmage 94, Soultaker 95, Arcana Lord 96, Cardinal 97, Hierophant 98, Eva's Templar 99, Sword Muse 100, Wind Rider 101, Moonlight Sentinel 102, Mystic Muse 103, Elemental Master 104, Eva's Saint 105, Shillien Templar 106, Spectral Dancer 107, Ghost Hunter 108, Ghost Sentinel 109, Storm Screamer 110, Spectral Master 111, Shillien Saint 112, Titan 113, Grand Khavatari 114, Dominator 115, Doomcryer 116, Fortune Seeker 117, Maestro 118.
When checking how skills work, never add to a character a skill of another race or class, since it will work on it incorrectly: every race and class has its own base parameters and passive skills, and all of this together will distort the picture of how the skill works.
Items and their IDs
To check damage, the enchant level and some other parameters, the character has to be dressed in something. There are two commands for that:
- //summon ID XX summons an item by its ID, where XX is how many such items to summon; if XX is not written, one item is summoned by default. //summon2 +XX ID summons an enchanted item, where XX is the enchant level.
- The IDs of the most needed items; for an armor set, the IDs of all its pieces. Tallum Heavy Set: 5780, 5768, 2382, 547. Dark Crystal Magic Set: 5779, 5767, 2407, 512, and the Imperial Crusader shield 6377. Tallum Magic Set: 547, 2400, 2405, 5782, 5770. Imperial Crusader Heavy Armor Set: 6373, 6374, 6375, 6376, 6378, and the shield 6377. Draconic Leather Light Armor Set: 6379, 6380, 6381, 6382. Epic jewelry: 6657, 6656, 6659, 6658, 6660.
- Weapons: Tallum Blade*Dark Legion's Edge 6580, Heavens Divider with Focus 6607, Saint Spear with Haste 6601, Arcana Mace with Acumen 6608, Basalt Battlehammer with Health 6585, Forgotten Blade with Focus 6583, Angel Slayer with Critical Damage 6590, Draconic Bow with Focus 7577, Demon Splinter with Focus 6602.
- In principle this is enough for any tests in the game; here are also the IDs of some consumables, so that you do not have to rush about looking for them: Adena 57, Ancient Adena 5575, Blessed Scroll of Escape 1538, Spirit Ore 3031, Soulshot: S-grade 1467, Blessed Spiritshot: S Grade 3952.
- For those who like to check the chances of enchanting weapons and armor: Scroll: Enchant Weapon (Grade S) 959, Scroll: Enchant Armor (Grade S) 960, Blessed Scroll: Enchant Weapon (Grade S) 6577, Blessed Scroll: Enchant Armor (Grade S) 6578.
How to find out any ID
And finally about how to find out the ID of the needed item, skill and the like. Pressing Alt+G calls up the admin panel. Into the line in this panel you enter the needed item, the name of the skill, the NPC and whatever else you like, press the corresponding button (Item Search for an item, Skill Search for a skill and so on), and you will be shown its ID. If nothing was shown, it means you entered the name incorrectly. The name must be exactly as in the game, including capital and small letters; that is, if you entered the word adena, nothing will be shown, and if the word Adena, its ID 57 will be shown.
