The raid on the epic boss Frintezza step by step: the command channel, the altars and the drummers with the arrows, the melodies that must be interrupted, the portraits and the three forms of Scarlet van Halisha, the drop and why the boss differs from server to server.
The epic raid boss Frintezza is at the bottom of the location Imperial Tomb, or more precisely in the Four Sepulchers, in the room called The Last Imperial Tomb. To get in there, the quests for the passage to Frintezza must be done (Frintezza quest: the full chain to the Last Imperial Tomb), and the leader must have the scroll for removing the magic force field (
Frintezza's Magic Force Field Removal Scroll).
It is interesting that I, for example, got acquainted with this epic boss rather late. We played on a server with an old build that was sawn out of the C4 PTS by hand; the main content in it had been reworked up to the Interlude chronicle, but Frintezza had not been added, and it appeared there only at the end of 2008 or the beginning of 2009. And at once huge crowds started going to it; there were such brawls at the entrance as probably cannot be gathered anywhere now. But that is beside the point, let's not get distracted.
The way to the boss
To enter to Frintezza, all the parties must be united in a command channel. There must be no fewer than 4 and no more than 5 parties in the command channel, that is, no fewer than 36 and no more than 45 characters, 4 to 5 full parties. Each party leader must have the scroll for removing the barrier. We register all the parties at the NPC Imperial Tomb Guide (right away in the first room of the Imperial Tomb, on the right).
The leader of the command channel brings the whole channel into the Last Imperial Tomb, and all the parties are divided into two groups: one group gets into the central room with mobs, the second into a corridor without mobs where little pillars (altars) stand, the same in looks as at the entrance to each sepulcher. These altars have to be demolished to open the passage to the group standing among the mobs. Until the passage is open there is no point in beating the mobs, since while the altars are in place the respawn of mobs will be constant. Demolish the pillars, though it is hard, each has 800k HP; after that go in to the mobs and you can take them out.
Then we go along the next corridor and get into a room in the centre of which skeleton archers stand, and as soon as you kick them, passages will open at the sides of the room from which a crowd of mobs will pour onto you. First of all you have to take out all the drummers, Dark Choir Captain (fat pot-bellied big mobs, eight of them, standing four on each of two sides). Special arrows will drop from the drummers, and by shooting them at Frintezza you can interrupt the melody he is playing. Since the arrows cannot be handed over, they must be picked up by one person, who will stand near Frintezza and shoot these arrows at him. It is better if it is a clan character, so that the clan leader could give it to any free player and it would not depend on whether some clan member is online or not. Otherwise it may turn out that some player has the arrows and cannot be at the raid.
The hall of Frintezza
After you collect the arrows, we run further along the corridor and get into a huge hall with Frintezza. At the far end of the room stands a musical instrument impressive in size, an organ, and four big pictures hang at the sides in the four corners. The parties stand at all the pictures and at Frintezza's organ. The epic boss himself appears. And the whole point is that he is immortal and will not fight you himself. His task is to play various melodies on the organ, with which he either hangs debuffs or restores HP and hangs buffs on his servants. These servants are the mobs that will crawl out of the pictures, and also the raid boss Scarlet van Halisha, who takes three different forms; it is from the last form that all the goodies drop.
Frintezza sits down at his musical instrument and starts playing. He plays different melodies, and not all of them need to be interrupted with arrows. Or rather, all of them could be interrupted, you simply will not have enough arrows for that. So you have to choose the most destructive ones. Here are examples of some melodies:
- Healing Rhapsody: a heal of Frintezza, Halisha and the mobs from the pictures. Hypnotic Mazurka: a mass stun, everybody dances; it must be interrupted. Rondo of Solitude: a debuff lowering the effectiveness of healing. Testimony of Darkness: a debuff on running speed. Frenetic Toccata: a debuff lowering physical defence. Power Concerto: strengthens Halisha. Plagued Concerto: a poison debuff. There are also the melodies Psycho Symphony and Rampaging Opus.
Mobs appear from the pictures, and the first form of the raid boss appears in the centre of the room. Four groups must quickly farm all the pictures: not the mob Breath of Halisha standing next to a picture, but precisely the picture, Evil Spirit, the target on which is taken above the picture itself. When the pictures, and then the mobs next to the pictures, are farmed, you can switch to Halisha herself.
The three forms of Scarlet van Halisha
- The first form. We beat the first form; usually no difficulties arise.
- The second form. In the second form the boss is transformed: the hole in the chest is closed with a shield, and wings spread behind the back. The boss gets a skill similar to Rush Impact, that is, it instantly slides up to one of the players, and it also gets a paralysis. Frintezza himself starts having fun in full, playing the melody at which everybody stands stunned and dances. The one who has the arrows picked up from the drummers in the inventory must not let Frintezza play this melody.
- The third form is the hardest. The mob is completely transformed: now it looks like a centaur. A very angry centaur. The boss gets an area attack with a range of about 1200, that is, farther than all nukes and an archer's shots. When it starts casting this attack, a big circle of light appears around it, so this attack can be foreseen. Why, you will ask. Simply in order to run out of the range of this attack, since it hits very hard indeed. On the official Korean site there is still a video from C5 where every single character falls under this attack like a house of cards. This stage is farmed to the end, and it is from it that the drop falls.
Halisha's drop includes absolutely all the weapons, all the armor and all the jewelry of A and S grade, except the best A weapons, that is, those crafted by the recipes from the dinosaur island, and the A weapons added in the C5 chronicle, that is, the Flaming Dragon Skull, the Spiritual Eye and the like. The drop of
Frintezza's Necklace is 100%.
Why the boss differs from server to server
Now about what hinders farming this boss. The thing is that the developers themselves were stunned at having created such a powerful mob, and a short time after the release of the C5 chronicle a multitude of topics appeared on the official forum of the game saying that the new boss was completely impassable. The developers began correcting the boss on the live chronicle, which was reflected in the patch notes: in the patch note 10-24-06 of 23 October 2006 a fix came out that affected both Halisha and Frintezza himself, namely: Halisha's physical defence was lowered. Halisha's speed was lowered. The frequency of Halisha's use of the levitation skill was greatly lowered. The frequency of Frintezza's use of the melody Hypnotic Mazurka was greatly lowered.
There were several such patches on the C5 and Interlude chronicles; the last of them, in June 2007, made the arrows dropping from the drummers untradable. The nuance is that nowhere is it stated by how much anything was cut, and since leaked Interlude builds do not exist, and there are only the leaked C4, where there is no Frintezza yet, and the leaked Gracia, where Frintezza is greatly changed, on your Interlude server there may be anything at all. As a rule, Frintezza is carried over from Gracia without changes, but there are servers where everything was done by hand, and it is not a fact that on them this boss works the way it should have worked on the official server.
