Quests of the dwarf starter location

Which quests to do in the starter location from level 1 to 21, what each of them rewards, and where the first-profession quests are taken at level 19.

If we play on more or less high-rate servers, these quests are not worth bothering with (unless it is your first character on the server and there is nobody to help you along), but on low rates you will have to take the trouble and work right from the starter location.

By the way, it is not only on low rates that you have to do them. On one server the admins cut all the rates for adena, drop and spoil so much that, although the project was announced as x10, at the start everybody had to do all the quests, even the one for the first profession: although it cost only 100k at the NPC, even that much money was impossible to collect (well, I did of course collect 100k by level 20, but then I would have been running around with no gear at all, so I had to do the quest).

Since we are dwarves, all the quests are taken in the dwarven village and done in the village itself and around it.

The first thing we do on appearing in the starter location (it cannot even be called a quest) is go up to the newbie helper; he suggests swinging the little knife a bit, so we go and beat gremlins until a Blue Gemstone drops (it usually falls from the second gremlin), pick it up and go to boast to the helper. He gives out 200 no-grade soulshots for beginners and sends you to the NPC standing nearby; we click on that one and choose the first line, and the NPC gives a few more shots and sends you to the village, to the newbie helper there.

We do not linger: we run on, and the newbie helper in the village gives more soulshots and 12 newbie tokens, with which we can teleport between the starter villages (they will help a lot when knocking out recipes for resources). The teleport with them is from the same newbie helper (the last line). Bear in mind that at level 20 they can no longer be used. So the problem of teleporting between the starter locations is already solved. I do not know in which chronicle these tokens were introduced, but I did not get them on C3, and on High Five they were gone already; in short, we go by Interlude.

By the way, remember this NPC: starting from level 8 we will get buffed by him; at level eight he gives only Wind Walk, then more, and by level 16 there will be Haste and the Life Cubic. On some servers the buff is given only to the first character of the account, on others everybody can get buffed. Only bear in mind that at level 20 there will be no Haste and no cubic any more, so finish all your business here before level 20. Not all characters get buffed by the NPC but only the first one of the account, and not the first one created but the first one that appeared in the game and reached a certain level, either 3 or 5, I no longer remember exactly.

Next let us look at the quests that will give us a sufficient number of soulshots, a no-grade axe that is not bad for a beginner, a couple of no-grade rings (pretty little things), a hundred beginner healing potions and other stuff that will still help brighten our first hours on the server.

Now let us turn to the round house opposite the teleport; it is called the Elder Council. Wise dwarves have gathered in it, and it is from them that you will get almost all the tasks.

Of course these rings are of no use at all, but if you do not have one of them, you will not be allowed to do the quest Tarantula's Spider Silk.

Now about the quests that are done in other starter villages or towns but which dwarves can do too.

Well, that is all: we have done practically all the quests of the dwarven village; only the last two, for the professions, remain, and we will look at them separately:

And while we are at it, the second profession too: the second-profession quests for the spoiler are on the page of the Bounty Hunter, and for the crafter on the page of the Warsmith.

The quest Dwarf's Tutorial (C1 only)

The quest is taken from Miner Maron (from level one), who stands at the spot where you first appear in the game. And you appear not on the platform, as in the later chronicles, but a little to the side, among the mobs. And yes, these mobs are not gremlins but keltirs.

In fact two NPCs stand there at some distance from each other, Miner Maron and Miner May; it so happened that I was dashing about among those keltirs, took the quest from the first NPC and handed it in to the second; possibly they duplicate each other, I have not checked yet (but I will).

In short, you are asked to beat those keltirs and knock as many as four items out of them. The drop of the items is not 100%, but close to it.

We return to the miner (I handed the items to Miner May; possibly they can be handed to the starting NPC too) and receive the map Map: Elmore as a reward. An item called map appears in your inventory; clicking it opens the map (a tiny one).

But that is not all. After getting the map, go up to the NPC Foreman Laferon, who stands on the wooden platform (where you start in the later chronicles); he gives you 50 SP and sends you to the dwarven village for further instructions. But that will be quite another story.
