The crafter's golems: Mechanic Golem, Siege Golem, Big Boom and the cannons

All five golems a dwarven crafter can summon in Interlude: at what level each is learnt, where the blueprint comes from, how many crystals the summon costs and what the golem is good for.

Only the dwarf crafters have skills for summoning helpers for various actions, the golems. All the golems are different, each fitted for certain actions, and they help crafters very much. All the summoning skills are learnt with books, which crafters call blueprints. Some of them can be bought in a shop, some are knocked out of mobs. All the golems can use the shots for pets, which are bought from the pet managers in all towns and activated like ordinary shots: the crafter has to put them on the panel, summon the golem and then activate the shots.

Mechanic Golem

The Mechanic Golem is the first golem available for learning. It appears at level 28 of the crafter and is learnt with the Blueprint: Summon Mechanic Golem, which can be bought at any smithy. This golem has nine levels in all, learnt from level 28 to level 72. The Mechanic Golem is a rather vicious construction, especially under a full buff. People call it a tin can, a samovar, a basin. In all the guides on PvP and the Olympiad the fights with a crafter are described like this: "first of all the golem has to be broken".

I use this golem at levels 70+, especially when the mobs are x3-x4, because killing them myself takes long, and with a buffed golem they all go down in one-two. And it not only speeds up the farm of mobs but simply adds some cheer to the levelling of a crafter. After all we have no spoil, everything is monotonous, and here at least you control somebody, and it comes out less tedious. This golem takes 15% of your experience, regardless of the level of the golem itself; to summon the golem crystals are needed: D crystals before the second profession, C crystals after it. Crystals are also spent during the golem's life. If the crystals in your inventory run out, the golem disappears.

The Mechanic Golem is simply irreplaceable at the Olympiad, because we ourselves are rather weak, we have no buffs at all, and the golem helps very much. The golem is also used in PvP: if you see that something is about to start, summon the golem at once and buff it. While this and that goes on, you are already ready and can stand up for yourself, or for the spot. This golem can also be used for trolling: summon it in a town and attach it to some player. It will ride after them rattling its ironware, and some are greatly annoyed by that.

Siege Golem

The Siege Golem can be summoned only during a siege, and only if you are registered for the siege on the side of the attackers. The skill is learnt at level 49 of the crafter and has only one level; it is learnt with the Blueprint: Summon Siege Golem, which is knocked out of the mob Hatar Hanishee. To summon this golem 300 C-grade crystals are needed, and every minute of its life the golem consumes 70 C-grade gemstones. The Siege Golem is meant for breaking all sorts of structures at castle sieges, such as the gates and walls of those castles. Of the pluses: tons of HP and the most powerful blows at the walls; of the minuses: a very long summoning time, a very slow movement speed and a very big bulk: the golem is visible from very far away.

Big Boom

Big Boom is another golem for amusement. This time the amusement is that this golem explodes at command, dealing AoE damage to all the enemies around. The skill is learnt at level 58 of the crafter; 3 D-grade crystals are needed for the summon, and during its life the golem spends 5 D-grade crystals 4 times. The golem itself is a little barrel with a fuse on top. At the crafter's command Big Boom rides where it was sent and lights the fuse with a torch. We see a boom, a big boom. The skill is learnt with the Blueprint: Summon Big Boom, which is knocked out of the mob Fallen Orc Shaman of level 58; the skill has only one level. I never learn this skill, since the boom is a one-off and helps neither in the farm of mobs nor, all the more, in PvP.

Wild Hog Cannon

The Wild Hog Cannon: piggy, little hog, stomper; such are the epithets players gave this siege golem. The skill is learnt at level 58 of the crafter and has only one level; it lets you summon a golem that pounds the gates and walls of the besieged castle from afar, only in the siege zone and only if you registered for the siege as an attacker. For the summon 120 B-grade crystals are needed, and every minute of the golem's life requires 30 B-grade gemstones. To learn the skill you need the book Blueprint: Summon Wild Hog Cannon, which drops from the mob Fallen Orc Shaman of level 58 in the location Forsaken Plains. The skill must be learnt if you go to sieges. The piggy is convenient in that it does not have to be brought right up to the castle wall: choose a convenient place opposite the wall to be broken, summon the golem and smash the wall in two or three shots. This golem has only one minus: the change of mode from walking to shooting and back takes 30 seconds. The pig can be let loose in Giran too, but it looks less fun there, since it is small, and only the sound of its steps is heard; that stomp-stomp-stomp was the reason to call this golem the stomper.

Swoop Cannon

The Swoop Cannon is one more golem for sieges, but here the developers created something not very attractive, and not in looks but in the ways of use. It is learnt at level 68 of the crafter and has only one level; it lets you summon a golem that shoots over the perimeter to destroy the enemy's manpower, only in the siege zone and only if you registered for the siege as an attacker. For the summon 46 A-grade crystals are needed, and every minute of the golem's life requires 21 B-grade gemstones. To learn the skill you need the book Blueprint: Summon Swoop Cannon, sold by the traders in Rune, Goddard and the Ivory Tower. I never learn this skill, since the golem is very clumsy, and walls cannot be broken with it.

Those are all the golems that crafters have in Interlude. If you look at the High Five chronicles, a lot more was added there, for example the trading golem. I was about to rejoice, thinking it could be seated in the market in my place to sell various goodies, but it turned out to be merely a mobile shop, that is, an ordinary shop as in any town, with consumables, only it can be summoned at any time and in any place. In general these novelties did not please me. True, in those chronicles we were given the heal of golems, and it works simply wonderfully: it heals not a fixed amount of HP but a percentage of the total, and at a siege you can restore a siege golem almost instantly.
