Seven Signs is a server-wide contest in two-week cycles: the lords of castles fight for Dawn, everyone else for Dusk, and the winner opens the catacombs, the necropolises and the merchants of Mammon for itself. This page explains the cycle, how to earn ancient adena and how the Festival of Darkness works.
Two sides and a two-week cycle
A cycle has two halves of seven days. During the competition period both sides collect seal stones and fight in the festival; during the seal validation period the winner enjoys the seals it has won. A character signs up at Priest of Dawn or at a Priest of Dusk in any town, and the choice holds until the cycle ends.
- Dawn is the side of the castle owners: members of clans and alliances that hold a castle join it freely. Anyone else needs Lord of the Manor's Certificate of Approval from a castle lord or pays adena to the priest.
- Dusk is the side of everyone who owns no castle, and joining it costs nothing.
Seal stones and ancient adena
Monsters of the catacombs and necropolises drop Blue Seal Stone, Green Seal Stone and Red Seal Stone to characters who have chosen a side. Hand the stones to your priest during the competition period: they add to the score of your side, and in the second week the priest pays them back in ancient adena, the only money the merchants of Mammon accept. A blue stone is worth 3, a green one 5 and a red one 10.
The three seals
When you join, you also choose the seal you fight for. A seal goes to the side that wins the cycle, if enough of its members voted for it.
- Seal of Avarice: the necropolises stay open for the owners in the second week, and Merchant of Mammon appears inside them.
- Seal of Gnosis: the same for the catacombs and Blacksmith of Mammon, who adds special abilities to A-grade and S-grade weapons, unseals armor and exchanges weapons. In the towns Orator of Revelations buffs the winners and Preacher of Doom curses the losers.
- Seal of Strife: it changes the conditions of the castle sieges in favour of the side that owns it.
Festival of Darkness
The festival is the second source of points for a side. It runs only in the competition period, every 20 minutes, and a round lasts 18 minutes. A party of 5 to 9 players of one side enters a hall where monsters keep appearing, each wave stronger than the last, and the blood they drop is the score of the party. The side whose party holds the best score in a level band receives that band's points.
- Up to level 31: entry 900 blue, 520 green or 270 red stones; 60 points.
- Up to level 42: 1,500 blue, 900 green or 450 red; 70 points.
- Up to level 53: 3,000 blue, 1,800 green or 900 red; 100 points.
- Up to level 64: 4,500 blue, 2,700 green or 1,350 red; 120 points.
- No level limit: 6,000 blue, 3,600 green or 1,800 red; 150 points.
The whole fee is paid by the party leader, so the members hand their stones to the leader beforehand. Pets are not allowed, every member needs a fifth of the inventory free, and a character whose skills are above the band, for example after losing levels, is not admitted. Dying is not the end: you rise in the same hall.
Buffs cast from outside the festival hall cut the blood you receive in half. Prepare inside the hall, where regeneration in the centre is also faster.
