Cursed swords Zariche and Akamanah: how they work

Two cursed weapons wander the server: only one copy of each exists, any monster may drop it, and its owner becomes a marked killer whom everyone can hunt. This page covers how a sword appears, what it does to its owner and how to deal with one.

How a sword appears

Demonic Sword Zariche and Blood Sword Akamanah can drop from any monster in the world, but only while no copy of that sword is in play. When it happens the screen turns red for a few seconds, the ground shakes and a system message tells the whole server that the sword has been found.

The sword equips itself at once. It cannot be taken off, dropped, traded or destroyed, the character turns into a dark warrior and the name above the head is replaced by the name of the sword.

What the owner gains and loses

Hunting the owner

The world map shows where each sword is: open the map, choose the sword in the list at the top left and press Search. Fighting the owner brings no penalty of a player killer: no karma, no lost experience and no dropped items. Only characters of level 20 and higher can attack the owner, and the owner cannot attack anyone below level 20.

When the owner dies, the sword either vanishes or falls to the ground for the next hand. It also disappears by itself after its time runs out, whether the owner is online or not. During a siege every player counts as an enemy of the owner.

If the owner of one sword picks up the other, the first one disappears and the second gains a level. A hero's plain hit empties the CP of the owner in the same way as the sword empties his.
