Path of the Scavenger
Path of the Scavenger is a one-time, solo quest in Lineage 2 BoHPTS for characters of level 18+. It starts with Pippi in Dwarven Village.
Master Toma, teacher of the way of scavenger, is missing! You must find him!
Path of the Scavenger walkthrough
The quest for the first profession for the spoiler: Path to become a Scavenger (Scavenger, then Bounty Hunter). The quest is rather fanciful, and all because you have to find Master Toma three times, who roams over three locations, and shouts are constantly heard: "where on earth is that pest hiding". How and where to find this NPC is told below, after the walkthrough.
Dwarven Village. Take the quest from Collector Pippi. You receive:
Pippi's Letter of Recommendation. The quest is taken at level 19 in the dwarven village from Collector Pippi.
Talk to Grocer Mion.
Pippi sends us to the huckster Mion (Trader Mion) in the shop, and she chases you all over the village many, many times, even to the same NPCs (the NPCs stand in the smithy, the armor shop, the warehouse and the big building next to the gatekeeper); we run until Mion gives you Mion's Letter instead of a parcel.
Talk to Master Toma. You receive:
Bear Picture. With this letter we go for the first time to Master Toma, so dearly loved by everybody. We find Master Toma; he sends us to get 5 Honey Jar.
Western Mining Zone (teleport from Dwarven Village). Hunt Hunter Bear (lv. 14).
We teleport to the western zone (on the C4 chronicles there is no such teleport, you will have to run on foot past the Abandoned Coal Mines), from the teleport point walk past the big rocks and see the mobs Hunter Bear; we beat them for a long time, and after farming roughly 20 to 25 mobs the quest mob Honey Bear is summoned.
Hunt Honey Bear (lv. 17) until you have:
Honey Jar ×5.The experts assert that it must be spoiled without fail to get the quest item. In this way we collect all 5 items and look for Master Toma again.
Return to Master Toma. Hand over:
Honey Jar ×5. You receive:
Tarantula Picture.Toma sends us to hunt Hunter Tarantula and Plunder Tarantula.
Spine Mountains. Hunt Hunter Tarantula (lv. 16), Plunder Tarantula (lv. 17) until you have:
Bead ×20.They are in the same place as the bears, only a little to the north and nearer to the island with the NPC, or across the little river from the teleport point (they are seen by eye). If you were lucky enough to catch Toma on the island, these spiders run about right next to the island. The spiders must be spoiled without fail, otherwise the item is not given. We knock out 20 Bead and look for dear little Toma again ).
Return to Master Toma. Hand over:
Bead ×20. You receive:
Bead Parcel.Toma sends us to Gludin to Warehouse Freightman Raut. If you listened to me earlier and did the quests for the dwarves in the starting village, you have both the token for moving to Gludin (Gatekeeper's Favor) and the SoE for the teleport to Giran (Into the World).
Gludin Village. Find Warehouse Keeper Raut in the warehouse. Hand over:
Bead Parcel. You receive:
Raut's Teleport Scroll.Raut sends you to Giran to rescue the dwarf Torai.
Dragon Valley (teleport from Town of Giran). Talk to Torai. Hand over:
Raut's Teleport Scroll. You receive:
Succubus Undies.Torai stands in the Death Pass: either teleport to Dragon Valley, from the teleport point to the left and to the left again, but there are mobs there through which at level 20 we will certainly not pass; it is easier to teleport to the location Breka's Stronghold and run to the Death Pass, where you can go round all the mobs along the wall. We rescue Torai, he teleports off somewhere, and it is time for us to return too. In Giran we go to the luxury shop to Galladucci and do the quest for returning to the dwarven village (The Road Home), or return to Gludin through the usual teleport.
Gludin Village. Return to Warehouse Keeper Raut in the warehouse. Hand over:
Succubus Undies. You receive:
Ring of Raven.Warehouse Freightman Raut praises you for the successfully done quest and rewards you with the mark Ring of Raven for getting the first profession.
Find Warehouse Chief Moke in the warehouse to complete the quest. Hand over:
Ring of Raven. We talk right here to Warehouse Chief Moke and get the profession of Scavenger. As soon as you level up to 35, you can go and do the quests for the second profession (Bounty Hunter): Trial of the Guildsman, Testimony of Prosperity and Test of the Searcher.
Tips
- How to find Master Toma, the elusive little Toma. Every self-respecting dwarf is acquainted with Master Toma. And every dwarf has let fly quite a lot of curses at this NPC. The thing is that this NPC is needed for the obligatory profession quests of all the dwarves, and he has to be found more than once. In the quest for the first profession of the spoiler as many as three tasks have to be received from him and handed in to him, and that action (that is, finding him) is by no means a trivial little task. Toma has three strictly fixed respawn places, but moves between them chaotically, and there are some more nuances.
- The places where he appears. 1. The pit in the Abandoned Coal Mines. We either run on foot or use the teleport to the mine. The first room we pass through its only exit, in the second, big one we go straight to the end and turn left up the ramp, the third is a small room with aggressive mobs, then into the corridor and down into the pit. 2. The island in the north of the location: teleport either to the eastern zone or to the western one, the distance to the island is about the same. 3. The entrance to the Mithril Mines. Only keep in mind that there are just two entrances. If you look at the map, you see the left entrance and the upper one; there is a teleport only to the left entrance, while Toma stands at the upper one, to which there is no teleport, and that is why many cannot find him. We teleport to the eastern zone and run for a long time along the road to the upper entrance of the mithril mine.
- And do you know why from time to time Master Toma is found at none of the respawn points? I ran experiments: I put characters on all three points and did the quest with a fourth. Well, this pest teleports to another point when a player comes near him, possibly exactly to the one where you have just looked for him. Note that when you come within a certain distance of his respawn place, the game screen freezes for a moment, as when approaching a raid boss. It is exactly at that moment that he can teleport away. I usually run like this: the island, the Mithril Mines, the Coal Mines. If he is nowhere, then round again. And better, of course, to post spotters, because the quest is long.
- Schuttgart route: at the last talk with Toma choose the nearer friend and carry the beads to Yasheni in Schuttgart. It skips the trip to Dragon Valley and gives the same
Ring of Raven.
