Alliance with Varka Silenos

Alliance with Varka Silenos is a repeatable, party quest in Lineage 2 BoHPTS for characters of level 74–80. It starts with Naran Ashanuk in Varka Silenos Barracks.

Naran Ashanuk, Varka's Messenger asks you to become a friend of Varka Silenos and join them in fighting against Ketra Orcs, their sworn enemy.

Alliance with Varka Silenos walkthrough

The Ketra orcs and the Varka goats are at war with each other, so all the quests of one side are duplicated by the other; you will have to choose one of them, and only the quests of that side will be available to you. But that is nothing terrible: you can always send one character to Ketra and another to Varka. The quest Alliance with Varka Silenos is taken from level 74 from Varka's Messenger Naran Ashanuk (Naran Ashanuk); the teleport to him is from Goddard to the Varka Silenos outpost, he stands close by there. There are five levels of alliance in all; for the third professions it is enough to have the 2nd level.

  1. Varka Silenos Barracks (teleport from Town of Goddard). Take the quest from Varka's Messenger Naran Ashanuk.

  2. Ketra Orc Outpost (teleport from Town of Goddard). Hunt Ketra Orc Footman (lv. 77), Ketra Orc Raider (lv. 78), Ketra's War Hound (lv. 77), Ketra Orc Scout (lv. 78), Ketra Orc Shaman (lv. 78) until you have: Ketra's Badge - Soldier ×100.

To reach alliance level 1 you have to get 100 badges from the Ketra orc soldiers, Ketra's Badge - Soldier; for that we go to Ketra, from the teleport point to the left, and run along the path to a sharp turn to the right; at this place there are many glades with soldiers both on the right and on the left, and we beat the mobs. The items do not drop from every mob, so the process is quite a tedious one.

  3. Varka Silenos Barracks (teleport from Town of Goddard). Return to Varka's Messenger Naran Ashanuk. Hand over: Ketra's Badge - Soldier ×100. You receive: Mark of Varka's Alliance - Level 1.

Having knocked out all 100 badges, we hand them to Ashanuk and get the alliance mark 1.

  4. Ketra Orc Outpost (teleport from Town of Goddard). Hunt Ketra Orc Warrior (lv. 78), Ketra Orc Lieutenant (lv. 78), Ketra Orc Medium (lv. 78), Ketra Orc Elite Soldier (lv. 78), Ketra Commander (lv. 78), Ketra Orc White Captain (lv. 78), Ketra Orc Seer (lv. 78) until you have: Ketra's Badge - Captain ×100.

To get alliance level 2 you have to farm 200 badges from soldiers and 100 captain badges (the captains stand right at the teleport point, on the first glade, just jump down).

  5. Varka Silenos Barracks (teleport from Town of Goddard). Return to Varka's Messenger Naran Ashanuk. Hand over: Mark of Varka's Alliance - Level 1, Ketra's Badge - Soldier ×200, Ketra's Badge - Captain ×100. You receive: Mark of Varka's Alliance - Level 2.

Having farmed the items and handed them in, we raise the alliance level to the second. Here those who are doing the third profession quest can sigh with relief; the others go on.

  6. Ketra Orc Village. Hunt Ketra Orc General (lv. 78), Ketra Orc Battalion Commander (lv. 78), Ketra Orc Grand Seer (lv. 78), Ketra's Head Shaman (lv. 78), Ketra Prophet (lv. 78) until you have: Ketra's Badge - General ×100.

For the third alliance level you have to farm 300 badges from soldiers, 200 from captains and 100 from generals (the generals live a little further from the teleport point, around the road after the first glade).

  7. Varka Silenos Barracks (teleport from Town of Goddard). Return to Varka's Messenger Naran Ashanuk. Hand over: Mark of Varka's Alliance - Level 2, Ketra's Badge - Soldier ×300, Ketra's Badge - Captain ×200, Ketra's Badge - General ×100. You receive: Mark of Varka's Alliance - Level 3.

We farm, hand in and get alliance level 3.

  8. Talk to Varka's Messenger Naran Ashanuk again. Hand over: Mark of Varka's Alliance - Level 3, Feather of Valor, Ketra's Badge - Soldier ×300, Ketra's Badge - Captain ×300, Ketra's Badge - General ×200. You receive: Mark of Varka's Alliance - Level 4.

For the fourth level you have to farm 300 soldiers, 300 captains and 200 generals and get the quest item Feather of Valor. With the badges everything is clear, and to get the last item you have to do the quest Prove Your Courage!; we do it and go to hand in the alliance, getting the mark of level 4.

  9. Talk to Varka's Messenger Naran Ashanuk again. Hand over: Mark of Varka's Alliance - Level 4, Feather of Wisdom, Ketra's Badge - Soldier ×400, Ketra's Badge - Captain ×400, Ketra's Badge - General ×200. You receive: Mark of Varka's Alliance - Level 5.

To get the fifth level you have to farm 400 soldiers, 400 captains and 200 generals and get Feather of Wisdom in the quest Slay the Enemy Commander!. We do everything, hand it in and get the mark of the 5th alliance with Varka. That is all, you can go and get the recipes for S-grade armor in the quest Battle against Ketra Orcs.

  10. Before going to farm the RBs for the 4th and 5th alliance, do not forget to take the quests for them. It is a very common mistake: people rejoice that the badges are farmed at last and rush straight to the RB, forgetting that without the quest the item is not given. And one more nuance: if you have characters with the second alliance level in the party, that will greatly hinder the badges dropping for you, even if the support is far from you. There are two ways here: either leave the party or cancel the alliance quest for the support altogether. Check for yourself how the items drop simply by leaving the party.

Tips

  • Memorise the rule at once: if you have an alliance with Varka, and not only you but even somebody of your party touches a single goat, one alliance level is taken off you at once. It would be very hurtful to make the fifth alliance level and lose it through the sloppiness of a party mate. So it is better not to go in a party to the location you are allied with. I do not know whether it works when the party kicks a mob while you are in town, but better not to check. Because of this it is better to make the alliance where your whole group makes it, so as not to hinder each other.
  • Badges are handed over at every level and the count starts again from zero, so the whole road to level 5 is 1,300 soldier, 1,000 captain and 500 general badges.
