Alliance with Ketra Orcs

Alliance with Ketra Orcs is a repeatable, party quest in Lineage 2 BoHPTS for characters of level 74–80. It starts with Wahkan in Ketra Orc Outpost.

Messenger Wahkan asks you to be an ally of Ketra Orcs and join them in fighting Varka Silenos, the sworn enemy of Ketra Orcs.

Alliance with Ketra Orcs walkthrough

The Ketra orcs and the Varka goats are at war with each other, so all the quests of one side are duplicated by the other; you will have to choose one of them, and only the quests of that side will be available to you. But that is nothing terrible: you can always send one character to Ketra and another to Varka. The quest Alliance with Ketra Orcs is taken from level 74 from Ketra's Messenger Wahkan (Wahkan); the teleport to him is from Goddard to the Ketra Orc Outpost, or on foot from the town through the central exit, he stands close by there. There are five levels of alliance in all; for the third professions it is enough to have the 2nd level.

  1. Ketra Orc Outpost (teleport from Town of Goddard). Take the quest from Ketra's Messenger Wahkan.

  2. Varka Silenos Barracks (teleport from Town of Goddard). Hunt Varka Silenos Recruit (lv. 77), Varka Silenos Footman (lv. 77), Varka Silenos Scout (lv. 78), Varka Silenos Hunter (lv. 78), Varka Silenos Shaman (lv. 78) until you have: Varka's Badge - Soldier ×100.

To reach alliance level 1 you have to get 100 badges from killed silenos soldiers, Varka's Badge - Soldier; for that we go to Varka and kill the mobs next to the teleport point. The items do not drop from every mob, so the process is quite a tedious one.

  3. Ketra Orc Outpost (teleport from Town of Goddard). Return to Ketra's Messenger Wahkan. Hand over: Varka's Badge - Soldier ×100. You receive: Mark of Ketra's Alliance - Level 1.

Having knocked out all 100 badges, we hand them to Wahkan and get the alliance mark 1.

  4. Varka Silenos Barracks (teleport from Town of Goddard). Hunt Varka Silenos Priest (lv. 78), Varka Silenos Warrior (lv. 78), Varka Silenos Medium (lv. 78), Varka Silenos Magus (lv. 78), Varka Silenos Officer (lv. 78), Varka's Commander (lv. 78) until you have: Varka's Badge - Captain ×100.

To get alliance level 2 you have to farm 200 badges from soldiers and 100 captain badges (the captains stand either in the same place as the soldiers, as group mobs in threes, or go through the gate deeper into the location).

  5. Ketra Orc Outpost (teleport from Town of Goddard). Return to Ketra's Messenger Wahkan. Hand over: Mark of Ketra's Alliance - Level 1, Varka's Badge - Soldier ×200, Varka's Badge - Captain ×100. You receive: Mark of Ketra's Alliance - Level 2.

Having farmed the items and handed them in, we raise the alliance level to the second. Here those who are doing the third profession quest can sigh with relief; the others go on.

  6. Varka Silenos Village. Hunt Varka Silenos Great Magus (lv. 78), Varka Silenos General (lv. 78), Varka Silenos Great Seer (lv. 78), Varka's Prophet (lv. 78), Varka's Head Magus (lv. 78) until you have: Varka's Badge - General ×100.

For the third alliance level you have to farm 300 badges from soldiers, 200 from captains and 100 from generals (the generals live in the depth of Varka).

  7. Ketra Orc Outpost (teleport from Town of Goddard). Return to Ketra's Messenger Wahkan. Hand over: Mark of Ketra's Alliance - Level 2, Varka's Badge - Soldier ×300, Varka's Badge - Captain ×200, Varka's Badge - General ×100. You receive: Mark of Ketra's Alliance - Level 3.

We farm, hand in and get alliance level 3.

  8. Talk to Ketra's Messenger Wahkan again. Hand over: Mark of Ketra's Alliance - Level 3, Totem of Valor, Varka's Badge - Soldier ×300, Varka's Badge - Captain ×300, Varka's Badge - General ×200. You receive: Mark of Ketra's Alliance - Level 4.

For the fourth level you have to farm 300 soldiers, 300 captains and 200 generals and get the quest item Totem of Valor. With the badges everything is clear, and to get the last item you have to do the quest Prove Your Courage!; we do it and go to hand in the alliance, getting the mark of level 4.

  9. Talk to Ketra's Messenger Wahkan again. Hand over: Mark of Ketra's Alliance - Level 4, Totem of Wisdom, Varka's Badge - Soldier ×400, Varka's Badge - Captain ×400, Varka's Badge - General ×200. You receive: Mark of Ketra's Alliance - Level 5.

To get the fifth level you have to farm 400 soldiers, 400 captains and 200 generals and get Totem of Wisdom in the quest Slay the Enemy Commander!. We do everything, hand it in and get the mark of the 5th alliance with Ketra. That is all, you can go and get the recipes for S-grade armor in the quest Battle against Varka Silenos.

  10. Before going to farm the RBs for the 4th and 5th alliance, do not forget to take the quests for them. It is a very common mistake: people rejoice that the badges are farmed at last and rush straight to the RB, forgetting that without the quest the item is not given. And one more nuance: if you have characters with the second alliance level in the party, that will greatly hinder the badges dropping for you, even if the support is far from you. There are two ways here: either leave the party or cancel the alliance quest for the support altogether. Check for yourself how the items drop simply by leaving the party.

Tips

  • Memorise the rule at once: if you have an alliance with Ketra, and not only you but even somebody of your party touches a single orc, one alliance level is taken off you at once. It would be very hurtful to make the fifth alliance level and lose it through the sloppiness of a party mate. So it is better not to go in a party to the location you are allied with. I do not know whether it works when the party kicks a mob while you are in town, but better not to check.
  • As every character needs the second alliance level with one of the sides for the third profession, everybody goes through these quests. When I have to decide where to go, I am guided by the drop from the mobs: if I need key materials and whole A-grade weapons, I go to beat the orcs (that is, into the alliance with Varka, Alliance with Varka Silenos); if key materials and whole A armor, the goats.
  • Badges are handed over at every level and the count starts again from zero, so the whole road to level 5 is 1,300 soldier, 1,000 captain and 500 general badges.
