The Grand Olympiad is a monthly series of duels between Noblesse characters, and the best of every class becomes a Hero for the next month. This page explains who may register, how a match goes, how the points move and what a Hero receives.
Who can take part
Only a Noblesse may register, and only on the main class: see Noblesse quest for the quest chain. Registration is done at Grand Olympiad Manager, who stands in every town, during the competition hours of the evening. A cycle lasts one calendar month.
- Three kinds of matches exist: within one class, without class limits and team fights of three against three. A week allows at most 70 matches, of which up to 60 may be open, 30 class and 10 team ones.
- The character must have completed the third class transfer: see Third class transfer quest: the sagas of every class.
- The inventory must be filled to no more than 80%. A fuller bag means a refused match and lost points.
- A character with zero Olympiad points is not admitted.
Signing up is simple: in the dialogue with Grand Olympiad Manager choose the line "I want to participate in the Grand Olympiad", then the kind of match, "without a class distinction" or "class-based games", and confirm. If you change your mind before the message about the move to the stadium, choose "I want to cancel the participation in the Grand Olympiad" in the same dialogue. The command /olympiadstat shows your points at any moment.
How a match goes
Opponents are paired at random. System messages count down from 120 seconds, then both are moved to a stadium, where HP, MP and CP are restored, every buff and debuff is removed and 60 seconds are given to prepare. A summoned pet is sent back; a servitor and cubics stay with their owner.
- A fight lasts at most 6 minutes. Whoever drops to zero HP first loses; if nobody does, the one who dealt more damage wins, and the damage of a servitor is not counted.
- If the time runs out and the damage is equal, a tie is declared and both lose points, each as for a defeat.
- Only soulshots, spiritshots, echo crystals, energy stones and firecrackers may be used. Hero skills and clan skills do not work, and neither do the skills that return or recall a character.
- Leaving the game after the first summons counts as a defeat and costs points.
- On the stadium, before the fight starts, Olympiad Host offers buffs: you may take five of your choice.
Olympiad points
Every Noblesse starts a cycle with 10 points and receives 10 more each week. After a match a fifth of the smaller of the two scores, rounded up and never more than 10 points, passes from the loser to the winner. The current score is shown by Grand Olympiad Manager.
Every win also pays
Olympiad Token: from 30 to 50 depending on the kind of match. When the cycle is over, the points you have left are turned into more tokens, with a bonus for your place in the ranking: 100 points for the top 1%, 75 for the top 10%, 55 for the top 25%, 40 for the top half and 30 for everyone else. The exchange is open only to those who fought at least 15 matches in the cycle. Tokens are spent on the goods of Grand Olympiad Manager.
What a Hero receives
The Noblesse with the most points in a class becomes the Hero of that class for the whole next month. The names of the heroes are listed on Monument of Heroes in the towns, and the same monument hands out the hero items.
- If several participants share the first place in a class, the one who won more matches becomes the hero; with an equal number of wins, the one with the higher share of wins; if that is equal too, the class gets no hero. Nobody becomes a hero without a single win. The status is taken at Monument of Heroes once the results are in: the line "I want to be a Hero".
- The hero aura and
Wings of Destiny Circlet, an accessory that disappears together with the status. - One hero weapon of your choice:
Infinity Blade,
Infinity Cleaver,
Infinity Axe,
Infinity Rod,
Infinity Crusher,
Infinity Scepter,
Infinity Stinger,
Infinity Fang,
Infinity Bow,
Infinity Wing,
Infinity Spear,
Infinity Rapier,
Infinity Sword or
Infinity Shooter; the last three are the weapons of the Kamael. It cannot be traded or dropped. - Five hero skills: Heroic Miracle, Heroic Berserker, Heroic Valor, Heroic Grandeur and Heroic Dread. They work only on the main class and not inside the Olympiad.
- What the skills give. Heroic Miracle, 30 seconds: P.Def +5400, M.Def +4050, speed +5, resistance to cancel. Heroic Berserker, 2 minutes: accuracy +8, evasion -8, P.Atk and M.Atk +500, P.Def and M.Def -25%, attack and casting speed +100, speed +20, resistance to cancel and debuffs, stronger heals. Heroic Valor, 2 minutes, on the clan members around: P.Atk +250, P.Def +500, resistance to cancel. Heroic Grandeur, 1 minute, on the enemies around: P.Def and M.Def cut by half, evasion -16, and their physical and magic skills are blocked. Heroic Dread makes the enemies around run away for 30 seconds, like fear.
- The hero voice: a chat channel heard on the whole server, usable once every 10 seconds.
- To write in the hero voice, put the % sign at the beginning of the message.
Matches can be watched for free through Grand Olympiad Manager: the spectator sees the names, the HP and CP bars and the buffs of both fighters.
