Supplier of Reagents

Supplier of Reagents is a repeatable, party quest in Lineage 2 BoHPTS for characters of level 57–75. It starts with Wesley in Ivory Tower.

The Ivory Tower is the crowning achievement of our civilization. Research done here will benefit future generations. Magic is the Path of the future!

Supplier of Reagents walkthrough

The quest Supplier of Reagents, for collecting reagents and making lunargents and hellfire oil, is taken from level 57 from the NPC Wesley (Wesley) in the basement of the Ivory Tower (teleport from Oren to the tower; at the gatekeeper there we choose "teleport to another floor" and then "underground trade zone").

  1. Ivory Tower. Find Magic Trader Wesley in the basement and take the quest. You receive: Wesley's Mixing Stone.

Wesley tells you that if you hunt certain mobs, various pouches and little chests drop from them, out of which various reagents can be taken with a double click. Reagents may also drop from some mobs without pouches, in plain form. What are these reagents for? Opposite Wesley stands a cauldron into which reagents can be loaded to brew new, compound ones, and out of those other, still more complex ones. The brewed compound reagents can be used in other quests or changed for various recipes, key materials or whole items. About the recipes and key materials I will tell below; what interests us now is that Lunargent and Hellfire Oil for the subclass and noblesse quests can be brewed in the urn.

  2. Tower of Insolence (teleport from Town of Aden). Hunt Crendion (lv. 62), Hallate's Maid (lv. 66), Hallate's Guardian (lv. 69), Platinum Tribe Shaman (lv. 70), Platinum Guardian Shaman (lv. 73).

The mobs that drop reagents live in only two locations. The Tower of Insolence: Crendion on the 2nd floor, Hallate's Maid on the 3rd, Hallate's Guardian on the 5th, Platinum Tribe Shaman on the 7th, Platinum Guardian Shaman on the 9th floor and higher.

  3. Blazing Swamp (teleport from Town of Aden). Hunt Lava Wyrm (lv. 70), Hames Orc Shaman (lv. 74).

And the Blazing Swamp: Lava Wyrm and Hames Orc Shaman.

  4. The main formulas. 10 Moonstone Shard + 1 Volcanic Ash = 1 Moon Dust. 10 Moon Dust + 1 Quicksilver = 1 Lunargent. 1 Lunargent + 1 Quicksilver = 1 Pure Silver (brewed at the first temperature, a condition of the quest). 10 Lava Stone + 1 Volcanic Ash = 1 Magma Dust. 10 Magma Dust + Sulfur = 1 Fire Essence. 10 Demon's Blood + 1 Blood Root = 1 Demonplasm. 10 Demonplasm + Sulfur = 1 Demonic Essence. 1 Fire Essence + 1 Demonic Essence = 1 Hellfire Oil.

  5. Ivory Tower. Find Alchemist's Mixing Urn in the basement.

The principle of brewing reagents is this: first we put the mixing stone into the urn (the cauldron), and after that we can load the urn with reagents: first the first reagent is chosen, then the second, then the temperature of mixing, and then it all brews. Let me explain about the temperature: if the conditions of a quest do not state beforehand at what temperature the reagents must be brewed, you will have to choose the temperature yourself. If you brew at the first temperature, the reagent is brewed 100%, but only one; at the second temperature there is a chance of failure, but if it brews, you get two identical reagents; at the third temperature the chance of failure is still higher, but on success three items are brewed. My advice is this: if you have heaps of source reagents, you may brew at the second and at the third temperature, with a big enough number of tries you will stay in profit anyway; but if the reagents are just enough, do not risk it, or you will have to run and kill a heap of mobs again. All the formulas can be looked up at any moment at the cauldron, the Alchemist's Mixing Urn.

  6. Now what can be knocked out of whom, and from whom it is handier. Moonstone shards: best either on the third floor of the tower from Hallate's Maid, or in the Blazing Swamp from Hames Orc Shaman. Lava stones: in the Blazing Swamp from Lava Wyrm (they drop in plain form), or from the shamans there, out of pouches. Demon's blood: the 5th floor of the tower, from Hallate's Guardian, in plain form, 3 pieces at a time. Blood root and sulfur: only in the tower, on the floors from the 7th up, from the shamans of the Platinum race, out of pouches and chests; blood root very rarely. The other reagents you will have in a very large quantity.

  7. All the components, the complex reagents and the final items (such as lunargent or hellfire oil) can be handed over, sold and bought. So in Aden there always sits a heap of hucksters selling and buying reagents; some even build a business on it, farming moonstones in the Blazing Swamp round the clock (or launching bots there).

  8. Return to Magic Trader Wesley in the basement to complete the quest.

And now about what to do if you suddenly decide to change the brewed reagents for recipes or whole things. They are changed at the same Wesley, but personally I grudged giving away a heap of reagents for B-grade things. It is easier for me to craft them, and you think for yourself what is more profitable for you.

Tips

Quest journal

  1. Preparation of Reagents

You have agreed to obtain the reagent that Magic Trader Wesley needs for his magic research. Slay the evil creatures in the Tower of Insolence and the Blazing Swamp and collect reagent ingredients. Once you collect the ingredients, use the mixing urn in the basement of the Ivory Tower to create reagents. Refer to the note that is attached to the mixing urn for instructions on how to use the urn and for the formulas used to mix the ingredients. In the Tower of Insolence you should hunt Crendions, Hallate's Maids, Hallate's Guardians, Platinum Tribe Shamans and Platinum Guardian Shamans. In the Blazing Swamp hunt Lava Wyrms and Hames Orc Shamans.
