Make Formal Wear

Make Formal Wear is a one-time, solo quest in Lineage 2 BoHPTS for characters of level 60+. It starts with Alexis in Town of Aden.

You visited Alexis to have some formal wear made, but learned that her maid, Leikar, makes it better than she does. Go and see Leikar.

Make Formal Wear walkthrough

We run about in the game, run about, and then suddenly, bang! A strange thought comes into our head: why are we running about alone? And, developing that very thought, a second one follows: is it not time to get married? No sooner said than done: a no less strange character of the opposite sex is quickly found in the game, everything seems fine, the guests are invited, the date and place of the wedding are set, but having shaken out all our numerous wardrobe we find out that we have nothing to wear. That is when the time comes to do the quest for the wedding dress, Formal Wear.

  1. I will say at once that when I did this quest for the first time, everybody told me it was dreadfully tedious and long, and that is just how it seemed to me then, but that was because I knew nothing at the time and did not even have all the resources at hand. Today I did it once again: with all the resources available the quest is done unhurriedly in one hour. Just before starting I put a chicken in the oven, and exactly an hour later the chicken was cooked and the little wedding was done. The main inconvenience of the quest is that it is a one-time one, and the same character cannot do it more than once. But everything can be solved: either we gather a crowd and run about with that whole crowd, which is much merrier, or we simply run in two windows to get two outfits at once, because the men are all hopeless and you will never make them run the quest with you, yet the man you have chosen has to dress up too.

  2. The point of the quest is to bring the NPC who will make your wedding dress all the spare parts for it. One quest is the main one, but inside it there are four more quests, during which you get those very spare parts of your outfit. That is, you take the main quest and reach the NPC who will sew the dress, and she says where and from whom to take three additional quests. You do these three quests and hand in the items got from them, and then the NPC tells you from whom to take the fourth quest. Having done it too, we hand in the last item and at last get our wedding dress.

  3. As the quests go on, the NPCs will demand a heap of various resources from you, so it is advisable to prepare them all at once and carry them along; the resources are not rare at all, there is simply a lot of them by quantity. Practically no mobs have to be beaten, only three times in the whole pass, and the mobs are small, level 40-46, so that will give nobody any trouble. The names and amounts of the resources needed for the quests: Artisan's Frame 10, Oriharukon 15, Thons 150, Leather 200, Silver Nugget 500, Suede 3000, Thread 5600. And half a million adena, but that is no problem at all, considering that the wedding dress is sold for half a billion adena.

  4. Town of Aden. Take the quest from Accessory Merchant Alexis.

Well, now we can start on the quest itself, or rather on the chain of quests. The quest Make Formal Wear: start level 60, start NPC Trader Alexis, not repeatable, reward: the wedding dress (Formal Wear). We go to take the quest from Trader Alexis, who is in the accessory shop of the town of Aden (that is where the dyes are made).

  5. Find Maid Leikar on the square. You receive: Signet Ring.

The lady says at once: no way, she is not going to sew anything, but she has an acquaintance, a seamstress who earns a bit on such orders from time to time, and we had better turn to her. Her name is Maid Leikar, a housemaid in fact and in looks too; where such sewing abilities come from is unclear. But there is nothing to be done, we go; luckily it is close by, across the square: Leikar stands at the entrance to the armor and weapon shop.

  6. Hot Springs (teleport from Town of Goddard). Talk to Chef Jeremy. You receive: Luxury Wine.

And here it begins. Before discussing anything at all, this by no means slim lady wishes to eat a cookie (and what about the figure?) that Chef Jeremy will make for her. Well, where Jeremy stands we all know, as no third profession does without him and the quests for recipes of S-grade jewelry are taken from him; but if you have not grown to that level yet, he is in the location Hot Springs. You can get to him at any level, there are only non-aggressive mobs around: from the teleport point we run to the middle of the glade, and there he stands by the tents.

  7. Talk to Information Broker Mist. Hand over: Luxury Wine.

But the old huckster will not give the cookie for anything until you carry a little bottle of wine to the old drunkard Information Broker Mist, and that NPC is already among aggressive mobs of level 75+. There are several variants here: if you are of a level sufficient to kill these mobs, buff up and go ahead; if you are quite small, either try to run round these mobs somehow, or ask a Bladedancer to buff Dance of Shadows, or ask some Prophet to aggro all the mobs on the way and lead them aside (and leave by return herself), while you manage to run to the NPC and back. Mist stands in a pool of green colour.

  8. Return to Chef Jeremy. You receive: Box of Cookies.

We do the deed; the old-timer grumbles a bit more that the wine is not all that chilled, and we get the cookie from Jeremy.

  9. Town of Aden. Return to Maid Leikar on the square. Hand over: Box of Cookies.

We return to Aden and feed Leikar cookies from our hands; she becomes quite tame and agrees to sew the dress, but she needs three (three for now) items that have to be got from various NPCs. These are exactly the three separate quests at the end of which you get the parts of the wedding outfit. When you have got all three and done all three additional quests, you hand everything to Leikar and she says from whom to take the fourth quest. The three quests can be done in any order, or all together, but that is exactly what is inconvenient; it was easier for me to do them one after another. So, the new quests: In Search of Cloth, Find Glittering Jewelry and Make a Sewing Kit.

  10. Talk to Maid Leikar again. Hand over: Mysterious Cloth, Jewel Box, Sewing Kit.

We hand in all the things; Leikar says that it only remains to find the shoes, and everything will be ready. That is one more separate, fourth quest: Make a Pair of Dress Shoes.

  11. Talk to Maid Leikar again. Hand over: Dress Shoe Box. You receive: Formal Wear.

We return to Leikar, hand her the shoes and, oh hurray, get the wedding outfit Formal Wear. All the quests are finished.

  12. It must be said that this chain of quests is done not only for the sake of the wedding ceremony. The outfit simply looks very beautiful on all the races, and many prefer to move about the towns precisely in the wedding dress, with or without an occasion. I remember my first server in 2007 and myself, a newbie in Aden, when somebody brought light elf girls in wedding dresses, and they all danced there on the stairs at the same time. Oh, how I envied them then. And later I myself, when I traded in books, dressed my dwarf bookseller in nothing but the wedding outfit. In any case, you must have a wedding outfit, full stop.

Tips

  • The ring is what the four craftsmen ask to see before they start. Keep it until the very end.
  • Private servers with a wedding system usually ask both partners to wear Formal Wear at the ceremony, so each of them does the chain.
