Request from the Farm Owner

Request from the Farm Owner walkthrough

The quest Rancher's Plea, for adena and various consumables. Start level: 15. Start location: Talking Island. Start NPC: Edmond (Edmond). No requirements. Repeatable. Only for humans. Reward: adena or consumables.

1. Talking Island, Northern Territory. Take the quest from Edmond.

The quest is taken from level fifteen from the NPC Edmond, who is not in the village and not even near the village but far in the north-west of Talking Island, beyond the mountains; several little houses stand there, and by one of them stands Edmond.

2. Hunt Giant Spider (lv. 15), Talon Spider (lv. 16), Blade Spider (lv. 17) until you have: Giant Spider's Skin. Where: Talking Island, Northern Territory, Elven Ruins, Singing Waterfall.

You have to farm the spiders that have bred in great numbers next to the little houses; there are three kinds of them. The drop of the items is 100%, at least in the C4 chronicles that I checked recently, but the quest is quite unprofitable all the same. In the time until my mana ran out I collected 19 skins, no more. For these skins I was paid only 725 adena, which is very little: on x1 160-220 adena drops from a spider.

3. Talk to Marius to complete the quest.

It is a little more profitable to hand the skins not to Edmond himself but to the NPC Marius, who is next to the following little house. He gives no adena but can change the skins for consumables. For ten skins he gives you either two ordinary healing potions, or 50 no-grade arrows, or 60 no-grade soulshots, or 30 no-grade spiritshots. The whole comedy of the situation is that as many shots as you take from him, so many you spend on the next batch of spiders, well, unless you come out slightly ahead; but all the same it is more profitable than taking crumbs in the form of adena.

Quest journal

1. Establish a Ranch!

Edmond and his friend Marius want to build a ranch on Talking Island, but giant spiders are killing their livestock. They are offering rewards to hunters based on the number of spiders' husks that they bring back. If you take the husks to Marius, Edmond's partner, you will receive supplies. Hunt giant spiders, blade spiders and talon spiders.
