The Guard is Busy

The Guard is Busy is a repeatable, solo quest in Lineage 2 Scryde for characters of level 6–16. It starts with Gilbert in Talking Island.

The plan to move the people of Gludio to Talking Island has been announced. But still there are too many Monsters in the Island.

The Guard is Busy walkthrough

The quest The Guard is Busy, for soulshots or spiritshots and adena. Start level: 6. Start location: the human village. Start NPC: Captain Gilbert (Gilbert). No requirements. Repeatable. Only for humans. Reward: shots (at the first handing in of the quest) and adena.

  1. Talking Island. Take the quest from Captain Gilbert.

The quest for no-grade shots is available from level 6 and is taken from Captain Gilbert, the guard who stands at the gate at the entrance to the village (if you stand facing the newbie helper in the village, at the gate on the right). He sends you to beat various orcs and werewolves; the mobs can be found on the way to the Obelisk of Victory, to which we ran in the previous quests. And there are so many mobs and they are so different that as many as three kinds of items drop from them.

  2. Hunt Orc (lv. 6), Orc Grunt (lv. 7), Orc Archer (lv. 8) until you have: Orc Amulet. Where: Talking Island, Eastern Territory, Talking Island Harbor.

From the small orcs of level 6-8 (Orc, Orc Grunt, Orc Archer) Orc Amulet drops.

  3. Hunt Orc Fighter (lv. 10), Orc Lieutenant (lv. 11), Orc Fighter Leader (lv. 12) until you have: Orc's Necklace. Where: Talking Island Harbor, Singing Waterfall.

From the orcs of level 10 and higher (Orc Fighter, Orc Lieutenant, Orc Fighter Leader) Orc's Necklace drops.

  4. Hunt Werewolf (lv. 9), Werewolf Hunter (lv. 10), Werewolf Chieftain (lv. 12) until you have: Werewolf's Fang. Where: Obelisk of Victory, Talking Island, Northern Territory.

From the werewolves of various levels (Werewolf, Werewolf Hunter, Werewolf Chieftain) Werewolf's Fang drops. The drop of the items is not 100%, I would even say not 100% at all. At first I thought it depended on how many people beat this quest at the same time, but no: I checked on a test server, and everything was quite bad there, though I was alone on the server.

  5. Return to Captain Gilbert.

At the first handing in of the quest you are given either 6000 soulshots for beginners or 3000 spiritshots for beginners (depending on whether you are a warrior or a mage) and a little adena; at all the later ones, only adena. And, as is usual in all these starting quests for adena, there are rules of optimal handing in of the items to get the maximum of adena. I show it by the example of the items Orc Amulet. Each item costs 10 adena, BUT when 10 items are handed in, a bonus of 1000 adena is given. And however many items above those 10 you hand in, the bonus is given only once per handing in, and all the items are still counted at 10 adena. That is, there is no sense in farming a huge quantity of items, because whether you hand in ten pieces or a thousand, the bonus is given only once. So it is much more profitable to run to the nearest orcs, farm 10 pieces and at once run to hand them in, getting the bonus every time. A clear example: if you hand in 100 items at once, you get 1000 + 1000 = 2000 adena, and if you run and hand in 10 at a time, you get 1100 * 10 = 11000 adena. Is there a difference? There is, and a substantial one.

  6. In the C1 chronicles everything is very complicated: no shots are given, there are no bonuses at all. For 24 amulets I was given 135 adena, for handing in 68 fangs and 80 necklaces at once, something about 1800 adena. In the C3 chronicles shots were not given for this quest either; I stress it specially, as some players have figured out by themselves that there will be shots in the reward on C2. There are none there.

A few weeks ago, the lord announced that he will transfer all of the refugees from the Gracian wars to Talking Island. But, as you know, Talking Island still has many regions where it is too dangerous for people to live. The southern village of the island and regions surrounding the magic school are safe, but the inland woods and northern shores are places that even we guards do not like to venture into, not only because of the vicious wild beasts, but also because of the Orc masses and violent werewolves that live there.

Before going ahead with his plans to relocate the refugees, the lord has officially issued a command to eliminate from Talking Island the dangerous beasts that pose a threat to the lives of residents. They say that the lord's command will be officially announced in a few days. How do you feel about participating in the beast hunt?

A few weeks ago, the lord announced that he will transfer all of the refugees from the Gracian wars to Talking Island. But, as you know, Talking Island still has many regions where it is too dangerous for people to live. The southern village of the island and regions surrounding the magic school are safe, but the inland woods and northern shores are places that even we guards do not like to venture into, not only because of the vicious wild beasts, but also because of the Orc masses and violent werewolves that live there.

Before going ahead with his plans to relocate the war refugees, the lord has officially issued a command to eliminate from Talking Island the dangerous beasts that pose a threat to the lives of residents. Whoever slays the orcs or werewolves, and brings back proof, will be given a reward. Already many of the young men have armed themselves and gone out from of the village.

How about if you participate in the hunt? You can gain some actual battle experience, and it's also a good opportunity to receive prizes given in the name of our lord.

  • Say you will participate in the hunt

Go and slay orcs and werewolves that live on Talking Island, and bring back proof of their deaths. Prizes will be awarded according to the amount of proof that you bring back. Bring back the feather Orc Amulet, werewolf fangs, or the Orc's Necklace that orcs of fighter rank carry.

This task is not just a simple hunt, but an official announcement that, under the will of the lord, Talking Island is now part of the Aden Kingdom. Therefore, the aggressors who have invaded our land must be punished accordingly. All who participate in this hunt are representatives carrying out the will of the lord, and must carry this symbol of the lord at all times.

May the blessings of Einhasad be with you.

You cannot hope for any reward if you laze around in the village. Go outside the village immediately and join in on the hunt. This will be our chance to drive the orcs and werewolves from our lands and make Talking Island a suitable place for Humans to live in.

Don't tell me you've come back because you want to give up? Do you always give up that easily?

  • Say you will go on the hunt
  • Say you will quit

You have done well. May the blessings of Einhasad be with you.

Please continue, then. Pretty soon, our Talking Island will be a suitable place for peaceful citizens to live in, free of violent orcs and vicious werewolves.

Well done. I will reward you for every piece of proof you have brought me. This is a reward given to honor the fighters who have faithfully carried out the will of our lord.

The lord's decree is still valid. There is still more Adena left for rewards. Will you continue your hunt, or will you quit?
