Antharas' Lair

Antharas' Lair is a dungeon in Lineage 2 BoHPTS, recommended from level 85. 35 monsters of level 49–86 live here.

Hunting notes

In the High Five chronicles the location Lair of Antharas was completely reworked: all the mobs were moved out somewhere to the Death Pass, and the quest for the recipes of the Dark Crystal and Majestic robes was removed altogether. The location itself changed too: as you probably remember, in the second room from the entrance the location used to branch into three parts, and from the left and central parts you could not get into the right one. Now a passage has been cut in the central part, and you can calmly walk straight through into the depths of the dungeon without running around.

How to get to the Lair of Antharas

Forget everything you knew before: now you do not need to rush all over the location, and you do not even need the noblesse teleports. Now the NPCs Separated Soul are stuck in different places; they teleport players to various points of the Dragon Valley and the lair; in particular, in the lair you can teleport to the entrance of the location, to the little bridge (Magic Force Field Bridge) and into the depth of the location, to the northern region. The same NPC stands in Hunters Village, and by the way, if you now use a Scroll of Escape in the location, you will get not to Giran, as before, but precisely to Hunters.

Quests in the location: there is only one, the quest Don't Know, Don't Care.

Levelling zones

In principle the set of mobs in each room of the dungeon is strictly defined: for example, the mobs of the first room will never appear in the centre of the location, and the mobs of the centre will never respawn in the first rooms; but there is some mixing of monsters in certain rooms. And there is one rather strange place in the location worth speaking of separately: the very centre of the lair, where there is a cloud of mobs and all of them run in a circle. All the mobs in the location are of levels 85 and 86, most of them 85, but there are a few rooms with the tastiest mobs of level 86. Most rooms of the location are filled with definite sets of mobs: set number one and set number two.

  • The first set: Maluk Leader, Dragon Knight (two types), Dragon Knight Warrior, Maluk Hunter, Maluk Warlord, Maluk Princess, Elite Dragon Knight. The second set: Maluk Banshee, Dragon Knight (two types), Dragon Knight Warrior, Maluk Hunter, Maluk Warlord, Maluk Sniper, Elite Dragon Knight. The sets are rather alike and differ in that the Maluk Princess and the Maluk Leader are met only in the first set, and the Maluk Banshee and the Maluk Sniper only in the second.

There is one nuance here: both in the first and in the second set there is a Dragon Knight of type 1; after you pick it to death, a Dragon Knight of type 2 may appear, and after you finish that mob too, a rather strong mob may appear, the Elite Dragon Knight, whose drop and spoil are noticeably better than those of the surrounding mobs.

The third set: Dragon Guard and Dragon Mage. There are only two kinds in this set, and they stand only in the corridors between rooms, in just a few places, in particular in the corridor at the descent into the zone where the kariks used to begin.

The fourth set: Drake Leader, Drake Mage, Drake Warrior and Drake Scout. In this set are the mobs that constantly rush in a circle in the centre of the location. All of them have the word Drake in their names. All the mobs of this group have strengthened physical defence but weakened magic defence, so they suit the levelling of a magic group. Just do not aggro too many at once, or you may fall. The mobs respawn practically instantly and start running in a circle again. It is best to stand on the little bridge Magic Force Field Bridge; there is a teleport right to it.

The fifth set: Bloody Berserker, Bloody Karik and Bloody Karinness. In this set are precisely the three mobs that are of level 86. All three mobs are very tasty, with the drop of Vorpal items. But so that life does not seem like honey, the Koreans, as usual, played a dirty trick: they added to these rooms the mobs of the previous set, that is, all sorts of Drakes. True, here they do not run, but there really are a lot of mobs. The fifth set of mobs is in only three rooms; to understand roughly where, remember how you used to run to the kariks, that is, from the entrance along the right wall; when the descent to the kariks comes, it is guarded by the mobs of the third set; clear them out and pass into the big room: that is where the sought-after mobs of level 86 stand, three rooms in a row, and the passages between all these rooms are guarded too.

And the other mobile mob that runs practically all over the location should be mentioned: Knoriks, the Land Dragon's Patroller.

Drop and spoil. Noticed in the drop and spoil of the mobs: Vesper weapons and armor, and many mobs have Vesper weapons not only in the drop but also in the spoil, though with a low chance; the three mobs of level 86 drop various Vorpal items and also have Vesper weapons in the spoil.

Raid bosses. In these chronicles all the old raid bosses were removed from the location, and three new ones were added instead: Dragon Beast, Behemoth Leader and Drake Lord. Their drop is only the little bottle Will of Antharas, but they can be farmed every day by the quest mentioned above, for a very tasty reward.
