Saga of the Cardinal

Saga of the Cardinal is a one-time, solo quest in Lineage 2 Interlude for characters of level 76+. It starts with Hollint in Town of Oren.

Hollint asks you to verify whether or not the one claiming to be the Saint of Light in the Town of Goddard is authentic.

Saga of the Cardinal walkthrough

The third class transfer for a Bishop: this saga turns the character into a Cardinal at level 76. Like every saga it is a long pilgrimage across the continent. Your allies here are Agnes and Duncan, the route runs past six Tablets of Vision, and the three fights are against Fallen Angel Haures, Archon of Halisha and Fallen angel Tanakia.

Allies and the first amulet

  1. Town of Oren. Find High Priest Hollint in the temple and take the quest.

  2. Town of Goddard. Talk to Saint of Light Agnes.

  3. Hot Springs (teleport from Town of Goddard). Talk to Chef Duncan.

    He asks for Ice Crystal.

  4. Ice Crystal is the reward of the repeatable quest The Finest Ingredients - Part 1, which Jeremy gives at the Hot Springs.

  5. Talk to Chef Duncan again. You receive: Offering.

  6. Town of Goddard. Return to Saint of Light Agnes. You receive: Resonance Amulet - 1.

First three tablets

  1. Plains of Glory. Talk to Tablet of Vision.

  2. Valley of Saints (teleport from Rune Township). Hunt Guardian of Forbidden Knowledge (lv. 76) until you have: Resonance Amulet - 2.

    The guardians stand around the second tablet. Keep killing them until one leaves the amulet.

  3. Talk to Tablet of Vision.

  4. Varka Silenos Barracks (teleport from Town of Goddard). Talk to Tablet of Vision.

    Touching the third tablet calls Fallen Angel Haures. The monster stays only for a short time, so be ready to fight before you talk.

  5. Kill Fallen Angel Haures (lv. 76) to get: Resonance Amulet - 3.

  6. Return to Tablet of Vision.

Divine Stone and the fourth tablet

  1. Town of Goddard. Find Priest Bastian in the Mages Guild.

    Choose whom to help, the Ketra orcs or the Varka Silenos. Either way you must bring Divine Stone of Wisdom: the Ketra messenger Wahkan gives it for the quest Magical Power of Water - Part 1, the Varka messenger Naran Ashanuk for Magical Power of Fire - Part 1. Both quests need an alliance of level 2 or higher with that side.

  2. Talk to Priest Bastian again. You receive: Resonance Amulet - 4.

  3. Monastery of Silence (teleport from Town of Goddard). Talk to Tablet of Vision.

Halisha's minions and the last tablets

  1. Town of Goddard. Return to Priest Bastian in the Mages Guild.

  2. Shrine of Loyalty. Hunt Grave Scarab (lv. 73), Scavenger Scarab (lv. 73), Grave Ant (lv. 74), Scavenger Ant (lv. 74), Shrine Knight (lv. 75), Shrine Guard (lv. 75) until you have: Halisha's Mark ×700.

    With 700 marks in the bag the next kills bring out Archon of Halisha, who attacks you at once. A faster way for a strong party is to kill an Archon of Halisha inside the Four Sepulchers: it counts as well.

  3. Kill Archon of Halisha (lv. 76) to get: Resonance Amulet - 5.

  4. Wall of Argos (teleport from Town of Goddard). Talk to Tablet of Vision.

  5. The Giant's Cave. Talk to Tablet of Vision.

    At the sixth tablet Fallen angel Tanakia appears together with Dawn Witness Franz. Attack the monster until it withdraws, then talk to Dawn Witness Franz: the last amulet comes from that conversation.

  6. Talk to Tablet of Vision again.

    You must have Resonance Amulet - 6 from the previous step to commune with the tablet.

  7. Town of Oren. Return to High Priest Hollint in the temple to complete the quest.

Tips

  • Collect Ice Crystal and Divine Stone of Wisdom before you start: both come from side quests, and with them in the bag the saga is one continuous trip.
  • The marks are counted per character, but monsters of the Shrine of Loyalty die much faster in a party, and several players can collect at the same time.
  • The class changes in the final talk with Hollint, so come back at level 76 or higher.

Quest journal

  1. Meet the Saint of Light

    Hollint says that the Saint of Light has appeared in the Town of Goddard and asks you to meet with her and verify that she's actually the legendary saint.

  2. Searching for Duncan

    Agnes asks you to visit Chef Duncan in the hot springs area and bring her some food.

  3. Return with the Ice Crystals

    Chef Duncan needs ice crystals to keep the food fresh.

    When you deliver the ice crystals, Chef Duncan hands you a well-packed jar containing the food. Take it to Agnes.

    Saint of Light Agnes gives you the Stone of Commune and tells you to go to the Tablet of Vision.

    According to the first Tablet of Vision, you'll meet someone who has the Stone of Commune near the next tablet.

    At the second tablet, you saw who has the Stone of Commune near the third tablet. To find him, commune with the third tablet.

    At the third tablet, you learned that that Priest Bastian of the Town of Goddard has a Stone of Commune. Visit him and get it.

    Priest Bastian tells you to gain the trust of Ketra's Messenger Wahkan and get the Divine Stone of Wisdom.

    The location of the next Stone of Commune is not revealed, but Priest Bastian of the Town of Goddard is briefly seen motioning goodbye. He may know something. Speak with him again.

    Priest Bastian tells you to go to the fork in the road and travel north to find the Shrine of Loyalty and east to go to the Imperial Tomb.

    You've defeated the fallen angel Tanakia and taken his Stone of Commune. Now, try the last communion.

    The long journey has ended. Report your accomplishments to High Priest Hollint in the Town of Oren.
