Truth Beyond the Gate

Truth Beyond the Gate is a repeatable, solo quest in Lineage 2 Scryde for characters of level 73–80. It starts with Eliyah in The Pagan Temple.

The Priest Eliyah in the Rune Township knows how to get into the Temple of the Pagans.

Truth Beyond the Gate walkthrough

The quest for the way into the Pagan Temple consists of two parts, one of them swift and the other tedious. That is, these are two separate quests. The first one is taken at level 73 from Eliyah in Rune, downstairs, where the gatekeeper stands.

  1. Rune Township. Take the quest from Priest Eliyah.

Priest Eliyah sends you to Priest Flauron, having first hung all sorts of noodles on your ears about the true, pagan faith.

  2. Talk to Priest Flauron. You receive: Visitor's Mark.

We go upstairs and turn at once where the arrow points: Flauron stands there, and the entrance to the temple is there too. From Flauron we get the item Visitor's Mark right away, and with that the first quest is finished.

  3. You can go down into the Pagan Temple: the entrance is right here, behind Flauron's back. We go through the door, on the left there is a breach in the floor, we jump down, pass several tiers the same way and find ourselves before the entrance with the guards. We teleport through Triol's Mirror, find ourselves in a corridor and run along it to the next teleporter, the Temple Gatekeeper.

  4. The gatekeeper's menu has two lines: the first, "put the visitor's mark into the opening", which in theory should open the door without touching the item, and the second, "exchange the visitor's mark", which should change the item for another one. That is in theory; in fact it may also be that with either choice the item Visitor's Mark changes into Faded Visitor's Mark. If the mark changes, the door will not be opened for you next time. But we do not care, we are trying to do the quest: to get permanent access to the temple and do the second quest, the item Faded Visitor's Mark is exactly what is needed. So we use a scroll of escape to the town and run to Flauron again for the second quest, Through the Gate Once More.

Have you ever seen the Pagan Temple? You've heard the name, anyway, right? It's more like a Clan Hall for Pagans than any temple I've ever seen! Those Pagans, always lurking about like black curtains, secretly pulling the strings that control Rune Castle.

No one's really sure what they do in there, since they never let the townspeople inside... I'm sure they're keeping some ghastly secret! Although their security is very tight, there just might be a way in...

  • "How can I get inside the Pagan Temple?"

You're already capable of entering the Pagan Temple. You don't need to hear this.

(Characters must have achieved at least level 73 to undertake this quest.)

Those heathens occasionally even perform Human sacrifices in their so-called Temple! They seem to enjoy that part of their religion more than any other... And that, my child, is your way into the Temple! You'll be their human sacrifice! Of course, I realize that this is a very dangerous way to get in, but these are desperate times... And besides, they've been having a hard time finding Humans to sacrifice!

Now, let's talk about how you're going to do this... Before I get started, are you sure you want to do this?

  • "I really want to do this."

Very well then! Well, I'll get started... Please pay attention! I don't want to have to repeat myself!

Priest Flauron in Rune Township is in charge of finding Human sacrifices for them. Go speak with him and tell him that you're thinking about becoming a Pagan... He'll offer to let you visit the Temple, and will give you what he'll claim is an entrance pass. It's actually a Sacrifice Mark! It will get you inside the Temple easily enough, but once you're inside those lunatics will set upon you at once with spears and knives! There's no way that you could stand against this onslaught alone...

Many people have been deceived by Flauron and ended up as live sacrifices. You should probably take some trusted comrades with you, but I heard that the Pagans have a strange technique for scattering the forces of outsiders. Be very careful!

Who comes calling? Oh, you can't want to go down this pathway. Yes, it leads to our temple, but it's awfully dangerous if you're not authorized. Unwelcome visitors often disappear down that path, never to be seen again. Unwise, tragically unwise!

I see no authorization documents on you, so no, you cannot pass there safely. Although we do sometimes receive visitors... that would be authorized, I suppose, under certain circumstances.

  • "Well, I'd like to visit too. May I?"

As it so happens, you are in luck! Today is Visitor's Day. Excuse me...

(He mutters to the side.)

Yes, I have just received word from higher up that we need more, so I'm telling them that it's Visitor's Day.

(He turns back to you)

How fortunate you are! On Visitor's Day we lavish splendor on our lucky guests; generosity is our watchword. What? Oh, I was just talking to myself, hahaha! Now, here is the Visitor's Mark we give to visitors. With it, you may pass as safely as an armored saint into the temple! But do not stray from the path; your Visitor's Mark will not help you then, and it is dangerous indeed. Welcome, travelers! Soon you may rest your weary bones, and eat and drink without stint!
