Saga of the Phoenix Knight

Saga of the Phoenix Knight is a one-time, solo quest in Lineage 2 Scryde for characters of level 76+. It starts with Sedrick in Town of Aden.

You've lost as many people as you've tried to save. Learn your limits and then go beyond them!

Saga of the Phoenix Knight walkthrough

The quest for the third profession, Saga of the Phoenix Knight (Succession to the Legend Phoenix Knight): Paladin becomes Phoenix Knight.

Allies and the first amulet

  1. Town of Aden. Find Grand Master Sedrick in the Warriors Guild and take the quest.

The quest Saga of Phoenix Knight (Succession to the Legend Phoenix Knight), the third profession for the Paladins, is taken on reaching level 76 in Aden from the NPC Grand Master Sedrick (he stands in the warriors guild).

Where to find Grand Master Sedrick: map of Town of Aden
  2. Town of Goddard. Talk to Master Felix.

From him we run to the warriors guild of Goddard (in the temple, to the left) and look there for the NPC Master Felix.

  3. Hot Springs (teleport from Town of Goddard). Talk to Master Chef Donath.

Now we have to visit the location Hot Springs, where on the central glade stands the NPC Master Chef Donath, who needs the Ice Crystal. The sly ones have already done the quest The Finest Ingredients by this moment, and the crystal is in your quest inventory. If so, we talk to Donath again; if not, we go to get the crystal. Although no, we do not talk, because this is one of the third-profession quests where a fish is needed. For the Paladins the fish Big White Fat Fish is needed; the fish is usually sold in Giran, and if you want to catch it yourself, you need to know that the white fish is caught at the 22nd level of fishing.

  4. Talk to Master Chef Donath again. You receive: Ice Cold Flower.

  5. Town of Goddard. Return to Master Felix. You receive: Resonance Amulet - 1.

In the end we exchange the Ice Crystal and the fish for some thingy and return to Felix in Goddard. He gives the first resonance amulet, which has to be carried to the first tablet.

First three tablets

  1. Plains of Glory. Talk to Tablet of Vision.

The first tablet is the same for all classes, and it stands between Oren and Aden, not far from the Tower of Insolence. So we teleport to the Tower of Insolence and, without entering the tower, run towards the tablet (I usually leave a cat by this tablet so as not to run far).

Tablet of Vision in Lineage 2 Scryde
  2. Monastery of Silence (teleport from Town of Goddard). Hunt Guardian of Forbidden Knowledge (lv. 76) until you have: Resonance Amulet - 2.

We activate the tablet and learn that the second resonance amulet and the second tablet are in the Valley of Saints, and the amulet itself has to be knocked out of the angels that circle round the tablet in great numbers. The amulet drops from the last angel (that is the rule on PTS servers; on Java ones it drops from the 4th mob). You may be in a party while doing it, and you may be healed. In general all the professions are sent to the Valley of Saints, but there are several tablets and groups of angels there; which of them you need is shown on the map. The angels stand below, in deep pits. The Paladins have to run a long, long way to the very end of the location, along the path on the right side; it is probably easier to come in through Schuttgart, but that is as you like; in any case check by the map. We stack all the Guardian of Forbidden Knowledge in a little heap (no need to pluck them); the resonance amulet drops from the last one.

  3. Talk to Tablet of Vision.

We talk to the second tablet, and it tells us that at the third tablet a monster awaits you; by defeating it you get the next amulet. The third tablet of the Paladins is at the very end of the Wall of Argos, where the x5 angels are. Although the paladins can get there through all the mobs without problems, it is still easier to take a blade dancer along and run through under Dance of Shadow. Everything is seen on the map.

  4. Shrine of Loyalty. Talk to Tablet of Vision.

Tablet of Vision in Lineage 2 Scryde
  5. Kill Fallen Knight Adhil (lv. 76) to get: Resonance Amulet - 3.

A quest mob climbs out of the third tablet, and it has to be beaten. When you took the profession quest, a little book dropped into your inventory; if you click on it, it opens, and in it is written how to defeat this mob. For the Paladins it says there that Ultimate Defense has to be used for protection from its attack, and all sorts of hate skills to lower its defence. How exactly that can help I never understood; probably, if the mob hits hard and painfully, you should go into Ultimate Defense, but for me it all went fine: I opened it up like a tin can after landing the hate. The mob is called Fallen Knight Adhil.

  6. Return to Tablet of Vision.

The next amulet drops from the mob, we activate the tablet, and an entry appears in the quest that we have to return to the start NPC in Aden (well, the one who is Sedrick).

Divine Stone and the fourth tablet

  1. Town of Aden. Return to Grand Master Sedrick in the Warriors Guild.

He needs the Divine Stone of Wisdom. If you did the quests in Varka or Ketra beforehand, the little stone is already with you; if not, you will have to go and do them: first get the second level of the alliance with Ketra or Varka (Alliance with Ketra Orcs or Alliance with Varka Silenos), and then, depending on whether you chose the alliance with the orcs or with the goats (oh, oh, not goats but FAUNS), the quest for the Divine Stone of Wisdom: Magical Power of Fire or Magical Power of Water. In short, in the end you must have the Divine Stone of Wisdom in your inventory (the ordinary one). Sedrick asks where you will go to get the little stone, to Ketra or to Varka; you can choose any answer, it decides nothing: the main thing is that you do the quests and bring the stone, and where exactly from makes no difference to him.

  2. Talk to Grand Master Sedrick again. You receive: Resonance Amulet - 4.

In any case, having got the stone, we give it to the NPC, and in return he gives the fourth amulet. So we have to run to the fourth tablet. It is one for all classes and is next to Ketra; there are no mobs on the way, so we teleport to the entrance of Ketra, get on the path and run along the road to the left, if you stand facing the location.

  3. Garden of Beasts. Talk to Tablet of Vision.

Tablet of Vision in Lineage 2 Scryde

Halisha's minions and the last tablets

  1. Town of Goddard. Return to Master Felix.

After the dialogue with the fourth tablet we go to Goddard to Felix; the next task is to beat 700 mobs in the location Shrine of Loyalty, and out of the 701st a quest mob jumps and gives up the amulet. Well, if we do not want to beat so many mobs, he agrees to an alternative, for which the Four Sepulchers have to be passed. Which way you choose depends only on you; I usually beat the mobs.

  2. Shrine of Loyalty. Hunt Grave Scarab (lv. 73), Scavenger Scarab (lv. 73), Grave Ant (lv. 74), Scavenger Ant (lv. 74), Shrine Knight (lv. 75), Shrine Guard (lv. 75) until you have: Halisha's Mark ×700.

We set off for the Shrine of Loyalty and collect 700 items Halisha's Mark; out of the 701st the Archon of Halisha climbs. The mob is sluggish and drops the next amulet.

Grave Scarab in Lineage 2 ScrydeScavenger Scarab in Lineage 2 Scryde
  3. Kill Archon of Halisha (lv. 76) to get: Resonance Amulet - 5.

  4. Borderland Fortress. Talk to Tablet of Vision.

Having got the amulet, we set out for the fifth tablet. It is the same for all classes and is right here, in the Wall of Argos, only it is handier to reach it by returning to Goddard and teleporting to the entrance of the location again. From the teleport point we turn left, run past two glades with deer and run onto a big glade on the left (also with deer). At the far end stands the fifth tablet.

Tablet of Vision in Lineage 2 Scryde
  5. Rune Harbor. Talk to Tablet of Vision.

The fifth tablet tells you that it remains to get the last, sixth resonance amulet, which is next to the last tablet in the Forest of the Dead, only not by the teleport point: you will have to run there, either along the right side over the hills or straight through the mobs. We talk to the tablet, and nearby appear the NPC Eric Ramsheart and the mob Shadow of Beleth. Naturally, we beat the quest mob. You will not kill it, but soon it disappears, shouting something about a speedy revenge on you for meddling in what is not your business.

Tablet of Vision in Lineage 2 Scryde
  6. Talk to Tablet of Vision again.

  7. Town of Aden. Return to Grand Master Sedrick in the Warriors Guild to complete the quest.

We talk to Eric Ramsheart, and he hands over the last amulet. We activate the tablet and return to Aden to Sedrick. We get the profession Phoenix Knight, some adena (from 5kk to 50kk, depending on the rates) and the book Secret Book of Giants.

Tips

  • Collect Ice Crystal and Divine Stone of Wisdom before you start: both come from side quests, and with them in the bag the saga is one continuous trip.
  • The marks are counted per character, but monsters of the Shrine of Loyalty die much faster in a party, and several players can collect at the same time.
  • Ice Crystal is the reward of the repeatable quest The Finest Ingredients - Part 1, which Jeremy gives at the Hot Springs.
  • Big White Fat Fish is a fishing catch; the quest journal says it takes a fisherman with a Fishing skill of level 23–25. The fish can be traded, so you can also buy it from another player.

What the NPCs of the quest say, in the words of the game; under each page are the answers you can choose.

Sedrick18 pages

I'm sure you've felt the dilemma of being a Paladin by now.

How do you act when life, honor, truth, justice, faith and belief seem in conflict with each other? How can you reconcile that? It's not easy to find justice.

  • "What do you mean?"

Come back when your sword is shinier!

(This quest may only be undertaken by a Paladin level is 76 or above.)

First, head to Goddard and find Felix there. He was once a knight of Dion, and he fell in love with a woman from a certain village.

When the peasant rebellion and the knights were sent to suppress it, he abandoned his post and ran away to protect her.

Also, this record of one of the greatest knights has been passed down through our Knight Guild. But because he became obsessed with his own glory, he eventually disappeared in the end...

Felix may be similar to him in many ways. Perhaps is it true for all of us who are called knights...

See Felix in Goddard. With his skills, he might be working as a guard or master. He will know of the ancient training.

Long ago, a peasant revolt broke out in a small village in Dion Territory. When talks failed, the local manor lord resorted to force. Obeying their orders, the top Knights of the guild fought for him.

However, many young Knights followed their conscience and sided with the peasants. The order was split, each side feeling righteous.

I wonder if either side was right. Could a Knight just be defending his ego? There is no such thing as true justice. Whether a Paladin or Dark Avenger, one must choose and defend that choice with conviction!

Will you take this training journey, as written in the book of ancient rites? Then you'll be able to answer my question!

  • "I will!"

You seem different.

Do you think you know about trust? What is most important is to be trusted by others and to trust yourself. Can you answer my question now?

  • "I must conduct myself honorably and practice justice."

There are many perspectives on justice.

You have to fight by the light of the justice in your heart.

My traveling days are over. You have transcended your country or religion as a Knight or Paladin with your values.

Lead your life by the candle in your heart!

You need skill to protect justice.

You have obtained enlightenment but still need the protection as a Knight of the temple.

(Only a character of level 76 or above can transfer class. Do not abandon the quest until class transfer is complete!)

So long as the light of justice within your heart continues to burn, you will be able to protect that righteousness from anything.

I pray that you have a brilliant life as a knight/ Never let your light go out.

Come back when your body is as strong as your faith.

(Only a character of level 76 or above may transfer classes. Don't abandon the quest until class transfer is complete.)

From your wounds, I'd say you've fought with Adil.

I wondered why we would undertake the pilgrimage when we couldn't even comprehend the inscriptions on the Tablets of Vision. I found out about the Resonance Amulet in the ancient texts.

I hit a wall, and my Resonance Amulet was damaged beyond use.

  • "How do I repair it?"

The advance base of the Ketra Orcs is in the northern part of the Town of Goddard. Meet with Ketra's Messenger Wahkan. You can still change sides.

Do you remember what a Knight seeks to defend?

This task is relevant to that! If you fight for one side, you are fighting against the other!

The Varka Silenos stronghold is located in the western section of the Town of Goddard. Meet with Varka's Messenger Naran Ashanuk. You can still change sides.

Do you remember what a Knight seeks to defend?

This task is relevant to that! If you fight for one side, you are fighting against the other!

Go get the Divine Stone of Wisdom either from the Ketra Orcs or the Varka Silenos. Only then will this Resonance Amulet work.

Did you have to make a sacrifice to get the Divine Stone of Wisdom?

Did you choose to defend your mission, the Ketra Orcs or the Varka Silenos?

Sometimes you must make difficult choices.

  • ......

Go to the forth tablet in the north of the Varka Silenos Camp. Don't forget your new friendship or your sacrifice.

This Resonance Amulet operates by a magic switch. An orc priest named Tarkai that I recently met told me how to recharge the magic power.

A piece of stone was needed, of the kind that the Ketra Orcs or the Varka Silenos possess. It is a source of energy the holds the concentrated power that flows through the ground. They call it the Divine Stone of Wisdom and they worship it.

That stone is the only way to restore the Resonance Amulet's power. But since they do not show it to anybody, you must earn their trust before you can obtain the stone. Now, which side will you visit?

  • Ketra Orc
  • Varka Silenos

The Resonance Amulet is whole once again! You can feel it, right? Take it and go to the forth tablet in the north of the Varka Silenos Camp. But don't forget. The works you've done to get this... and the lessons from your trials!

Finally, someone shows up! I knew it would happen sooner or later!

Do you know what you're fighting for? If so, put your conviction onto your sword and kill this seducer of knights!

Don't talk to me now! It's too dangerous! Stay away!

............ Damn the bad luck.....! He got away again!

I think I'm in over my head...!

.... If only some capable person would offer to help me....

Don't hesitate to kill! This seducer digs its claws into the strongest of hearts! Countless brave knights have been corrupted by the mere whisper of this devil! Don't you have any self-respect?

You're brave, but this isn't the time for you to fight! Stay away for now!

There is an evil that lives deep within all knights' hearts... It's the spirit that ultimately corrupts knighthood.

Beleth is a seducer. His trap lies in the foundation of equality, an absolute virtue! He treats everybody equally. That is, he destroys and corrupts all.

But, that's not. We're not all equal. From the moment you resolve in your heart to become a protector, all others become either predators, protectors or protected.

The strength of your commitment is tested daily.

The path we walk flows deep with blood and gore. The longer you walk this path, the more that sticks to you, making your feet heavy and your sword dull.

And that's not the worst of it!

  • "What else is there?"

Do you remember the oath you took when you first became a knight? To defend honor at all cost? Do you think the action of Sir Herod, who died a miserable death defending his honor, was a right one? What did you learn from the testimony of trust?

Trust is what we knights have to give to people! Trust!

Trust is also faith. You don't betray what you have faith in, nor those who have faith in you. There's only one more thing...

You must discover how to earn trust from people....

You probably already know all about this. I shouldn't need to explain it to you...

Now, ask your last question to the stone tablet.

  • "Wait!"

I used to have the pride of a Knight. I sacrificed it to save my family.

Did Sedrick tell you I was the one who gave up everything and left?

My wife has since died, and now my daughter is very sick.

  • "What's wrong?"

Did you bring me the Ice Cold Flower? I've heard that a fellow, Donath by name, at the Goddard Hot Springs can make it for you. Please find him, obtain the Ice Cold Flower and return here as quickly as possible!

Ice Cold Flower! I'll put this at her bedside when she sleeps.

You must visit the six stone tablets placed by the gods around our world.

The legendary Knight disappeared to undertake this pilgrimage! However...

  • "What?"

Did you see the first stone tablet in the South of Tower of Insolence?

I don't know about the Resonance Amulet very well. However, Sedrick left this Resonance Amulet with me long time ago...

Go to the tablet. Then, commune with the first stone tablet! This is all I know now.

My daughter has come down with Execution Grounds Fever. I need an Ice Cold Flower.

Even if Sedrick has other plans for you, bring me one and I'll tell you what path to follow. Meet Chef Donath in the north, he'll help you get one.

You saved my daughter's life!

Sedrick is the only guild member to succeed in this quest.

Take this stone and commune with the stone tablet, then you'll be able to read the inscriptions on it.

The legendary Knight is the guardian of the stone tablets. He was cursed and bound to the tablets, and will attack pilgrims.

Find the first tablet to the south of the Tower of Insolence!

You haven't finished yet?

I really appreciated you saving my daughter. I'll never forget that you protected my family.

The fifth Resonance Amulet? Ah, yes. I have it, but I can't give this one to you. A Knight gave me this an hour ago and told me to tell the next Knight who visits me how to get another one.

  • "Tell me how!"

There are two ways to get the amulet. You can get it either by entering the Four Sepulchers or by slaying evil monsters in the Shrine of Loyalty by the Wall of Argos. Anyways, you must kill the Archon of Halisha. The Resonance Amulet will let you know where the next tablet is.

To get the Resonance Amulet, you must kill the Archon of Halisha, either by entering the Four Sepulchers or by slaying evil monsters in the Shrine of Loyalty by the Wall of Argos.

Both paths will be difficult!

Tablet of Vision7 pages

As you near the Tablet of Vision, you sense a presence. Could it be someone you've learned about in the past?

Might it be that you know the tale of the guardian of this tablet? Thoughts race through your mind. Have you read the book about Knight Adil?

  • Look around

A heavy sensation grips you tightly. The one who sacrificed everything for victory! Victory in battle was his only desire! Can you defeat him? Could you possibly win against such an opponent?

The time has come to examine the Tablet of Vision. Adil's attack is coming constantly! Defeat him first!

You sense a disturbance near the tablet.

The time hasn't yet come for you to prove yourself. Come back later.

The Resonance Amulet starts emitting light as soon as you near the Tablet of Vision.

  • Commune with the Tablet of Vision.

Countless thoughts beyond comprehension sear painfully into your brain. You hear the faint whisper of a woman's voice.

A vision appears... A handsome young knight, entering the Town of Aden with a Resonance Amulet!

Could it be... Sedrick?

Further communion with this tablet is futile.

Get the next Resonance Amulet from Grand Master Sedrick at Sedrick's Training Hall in the Town of Aden!

As you approach the tablet, you feel a presence. Could it be the soul of the one who discouraged Sedrick and degraded the Fallen Knight Adil, here to prevent anyone from learning the secrets of the tablet?

It looks back at you with the eyes of those you chose not to protect.

Now the tablet is before your eyes! Is it an illusion?

The sound of swordplay brings you back to reality.

  • Patrol the area.

Suddenly you feel a chill, and then see the flash of a blade!

When you open your eyes you discover that a mortal blow was blocked...

The tablet is still and dark.

You must speak with Eric over there.

There's a disturbance near the tablet, but it's not your business. Don't get involved.

Come back when it's time.

The Resonance Amulet begins emitting light as you near the tablet.

  • Commune with the Tablet of Vision.

An absolute sense of knowledge seeps into your mind. It sounds like someone's voice can be heard.

The voice speaks. "So... another hero is born."

A woman's voice replied, "Not yet, he's just a child without a mother's love."

You feel an infinite freedom, then a voice rings out in your head:

"Go and find Grand Master Cedric of the Knights' Clan and tell him of your englightenment. Take the title of Phoenix Knight, the eternal Knight."

Further communion with this tablet would be futile. Go back to Grand Master Sedrick in the Town of Aden.

So, you want an Ice Cold Flower, eh? What do you need it for?

Oh no! Not Execution Grounds Fever!? Isn't... That fever caused by corpses?

The ingredients for Ice Cold Flower are hard to come by...

  • "What can I do?"

That's a very serious disease! Whoever gets it falls down and doesn't get back up!

Ask Chef Jeremy about the Ice Crystal. Ask a fisherman for the fat white fish, or perhaps you could catch it yourself!

Here's the Ice Crystal... and, a fat white fish! You've brought both of them! The dish is very simple. This fish contains cold air. Cut it carefully into thin slices and wrap them around Ice Crystals... It makes a great sushi! It perfectly enhances the chill of the Ice Crystal and spreads the cold air around it. Use the scales to wrap it up and seal it. This dish is called Ice Cold Flower... And here it is!

  • "Thank you!"

Hey, what are you doing here? Didn't you say that Felix's daughter was dying?

I've been working my ass off for you!

First, I'll need an Ice Crystal and a fat white fish. The dish's name is deceptive. It's actually a lovely cold dish made of fish. As Ice Crystals are the legendary food material, Chef Jeremy can tell you more of the details.

You can either get the fish from a fisherman or catch it yourself!

Put it near the patient's head and pull that string. The dish will open like a flower and chilled air will escape from it. Did you say the patient was Felix? Or his daughter? Anyways, that chill should cure the Execution Grounds Fever.

Now, you know what to do. Hurry back to your patient.
