Pailaka - Injured Dragon

Pailaka - Injured Dragon is a one-time, solo quest in Lineage 2 Scryde for characters of level 73–77. It starts with Ketra Orc Shaman in Town of Goddard.

Third Pailaka quest. Energy is included in the quest reward. Upon completing, a fixed amount of energy points are recovered. (If completion takes place while energy is full, you do not receive any additional energy.)

Pailaka - Injured Dragon walkthrough

The third Pailaka: a solo instance in a copy of the Varka camp for characters of level 73–77. It can be done once, on the main class or on a subclass, and a character of level 78 can no longer take it. Four walls of monsters stand between you and the fire dragon Latana; the reward is Pailaka Shirt with a full bar of vitality. The timer is 90 minutes.

  1. Town of Goddard. Take the quest from Ketra Orc Shaman.

He stands by the stairs near the western exit of the town. Take every buff you can before you talk to him.

  2. Talk to Ketra Orc Supporter. You receive: Spear of Silenos.

The spear is for everyone who has no strong attack of their own. With it every critical hit raises a counter; at seven use its area skill, which stuns and almost clears a wall.

  3. Hunt Grazing Antelope (lv. 72), Grazing Antelope (lv. 73).

Before the first wall turn left to the meadow of antelopes. They drop Quick Healing Potion and Pailaka Instant Shield, the two items the whole run depends on.

  4. The walls. The first one blocks the straight road: going around it is useless, you are teleported back. A second row appears behind it when you come close, but it disappears by itself once the front row is dead. The second wall stands on a bridge a little to the left, the third in a passage further left. If the monsters face you, you are going the right way.

  5. Talk to Ketra Orc Intelligence Officer. Hand over: Spear of Silenos. You receive: Enhanced Spear of Silenos.

After the third wall take the left turn at the fork. This officer improves the spear and casts up to five buffs of your choice. A second officer further on makes the spear complete.

  6. Kill Latana (lv. 75).

At the next fork turn right: the fourth wall stands there, and the dragon is behind it. He has little health but a painful spell. When he rears up to cast, use Pailaka Instant Shield.

  7. Talk to Ketra Orc Supporter to complete the quest. You receive: Pailaka Shirt.

He appears after the kill and takes back the spear and the unused bottles.

Tips

  • If you reach the dragon without shields and potions, go back to the last fork and take the other way: behind a small wall there is a second meadow, where Grazing Flava and Grazing Elder Antelope drop plenty of both.
  • Death is not the end of the run. Return to town, restore the buffs and enter again: the monsters you killed do not come back.
  • You can step back to rest in the middle of a fight: the walls do not chase you beyond a short distance.

Ketra Orc Shaman14 pages

I perceive darkness...and chaos... The protector of our race, the great Red Dragon, lies imprisoned and in torment there.

He summons us to return him to his rightful place of glory, but...

  • Ask to hear more.

I no longer sense the dark energy! The balance has been restored!

(This quest has already been completed.)

You do not deserve to learn about the great Ketra and the race of the Red Dragon!

(Only characters level 73 and higher may undertake this quest.)

The Ketra believe we are children of the Spirit of Fire.

We worship the Red Dragon, who wields the strongest fire in all Goddard.

Lately, however, we have felt a darkness flickering within the pure flame. It seem to be growing -- and the fire's power seems to be weakening!

  • Ask about this strange darkness.

You are already a legend to our people! As much as I would crave your help, you have even more important tasks to attend to...

(Only characters level 77 and below may undertake this quest.)

It is a darkness without shape or substance.

It came from across the sea, and now spreads its black shadow over our land as well.

The Humans call the source of the darkness "Kamaloka" and shadow it casts "Pailaka." Now even our great protector is helpess before it!

We must summon all our strength to defeat the darkness!

  • Keep listening.

Warrior, I ask you to aid us!

Because of our Ketra heritage, we cannot enter the Shadow of Darkness ourselves.

But I believe an adventurer like you can do so and remove this curse from us.

Will you do it?

(This quest takes place in Pailaka. It does not affect the Varka Silenos alliance quest or the Ketra Orc alliance quest.)

(Vitality points are awarded for completing this quest. You will acquired them immediately upon completion of the quest. If you receive the reward while your Vitality Level is high, you may notice a slight reduction.)

  • Say yes.

Our thanks, warrior! One of the last visions the flames gave me before becoming too weak was that there are others like us in the Shadow World.

They will help you.

When you are prepared, I will send you to the Shadow World, Pailaka!

  • Go now.
  • Come back later.

Warrior, do you wish to enter the Shadow World, Pailaka?

  • Enter Pailaka.

Very well, I shall wait here until you are ready.

Remember to seek out a Ketra Orc in that world. There must be one there who will aid you in your quest!

The darkness still exists! Will you enter Pailaka again?

  • Enter Pailaka.

I have faith that you will remove the dark shadow which hides our Great Flame!

Ah! I can feel the Shadow of Darkness weakening! You must finish it!

The Dragon of Fire, a descendant of the Great Valakas, appeared just as we Ketra Orcs were fighting those vile Varka Silenos.

He took our side and drove our enemies from the field of battle!

  • Keep listening.

However, we were exhausted from the long conflict. Since the Silenos could not match Latana's strength, they resorted to trickery: they summoned magical water to engulf him!

We tried to rescue him, but his wing was injured and he was captured...

  • Ask if he wants to rescue the dragon.

Of course! That is the dream of every loyal Ketra Orc! But our shaman senses that time is running out!

The evil Silenos shamans are trying to brainwash Latana into helping them.

Thanks to his in-born energy of fire, he has resisted their attempts so far. But injured as he is, he cannot hold out much longer...

  • Ask what can be done.

Truthfully, I do not know.

There is a small chance that if you can pierce the wall surrounding him, Latana will come to his senses.

If so, we could at least free his spirit, if not his body, to return to the Great Fire...

  • "I understand."

Know that, even wounded, the Dragon of Fire is very powerful. To help you slay him and set his spirit free, use this Spear of Silenos, which we captured from our enemy. It can use a power called Obliteration Storm to increase the effectiveness of critical hits! Its power has not reached its full potential, but by defeating the Varka Silenos you can obtain items necessary to enhance its power. Use it to destroy our enemy and send Latana's spirit to the World of Fire!

The enemy are Varka Silenos soldiers.

Their camps are positioned to prevent access to the dragon. It will be impossible to sneak past them.

By facing and defeating them, however, you can obtain a scroll needed to enhance the Spear of Silenos.

Then and only then will you be ready to face Latana, the Dragon of Fire!

What happened here has not affected your world, but it may help you in the future...

Now you must return to where you belong.

Use the Scroll of Escape to leave Pailaka and return to your world!

You have done it!

You have lifted the curse! I no longer feel the taint of darkness upon our Altar of Fire!

Warrior, I wish you could stay here with us, but our shaman decrees that you must leave...

Here is a Scroll of Escape that he has prepared for you. Use it to return safely to your world.

May the Ketra Orcs of your world value you as highly as we do! Have a safe journey, my friend!
