Recently I have had troubling premonitions. The trees, birds and fish know of what I speak. I still don't know what is coming, only that it will be horrible. I hope I am wrong...

I hope, at the least, to save humanity. I am therefore recruiting like-minded individuals to prepare for whatever awaits us. If only I knew how much time we have left!

Some invisible danger approaches this world. I can feel it as clearly as a thirst, and the trees of the forest, the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea all feel it as well. I do not yet know the nature of this threat, but I fear the worst, and this fear refuses to leave me. I can only wish my feelings are incorrect...

I at least want to help prevent the possible threat to life in this world. So I have been gathering people who share my thoughts in order to prepare for that impending danger. But I do not know when it will come, only that it may.

Excellent! I am sure that if we all plan together we can defeat the looming menace. We each must build up our individual strengths in order to triumph together. I am recommending that each of you embark on a mission of training. I am working on something that will make your mission easier.

There have been great strides made lately in the development of enhanced weaponry. You will find that weapons that have gone through this new process will give you added strength.

• "Tell me more about the method used to enhance weapons."

In order to bestow your weapon with a special ability, you must have a certain level of magic-filled souls. Collect the monster souls with the soul crystal that I gave you and bring it to the blacksmith. He will bestow a special ability in the weapon with the magic power of the souls.

I have already spoken with all the blacksmiths in each village, so all you have to do is bring them the collected souls.

Be warned: the monsters whose souls can be collected are located in Northern Oren, the Forest of Mirrors, Giant's Cave, the Devastated Castle, the Tower of Insolence upper level, Watcher's Tomb, the Garden of Eva, and Devil's Isle. If you can use a weapon that is bestowed with the monsters' collected souls, you will find it to be greatly helpful in your endeavor.

• "How do I collect the monsters' souls?"

A Soul Crystal derives its power from the souls of evil creatures. It is best used on a creature who has first been weakened, and lacks the energy to resist. When you have an evil creature halfway dead, apply your Soul Crystal to it. This will draw the creature's soul towards the crystal. Once the vile creature is slain, its soul will fully seperate from its body, and with luck be captured within the Soul Crystal.Each Soul Crystal can hold up to 10 souls. More specifically, it can contain up to 10 souls with regular use. I will give you details after you've returned the Soul Crystal with 10 souls.

Be careful! Collecting souls that can be used to infuse special powers into a weapon is no easy task!

• "What kind of precautions should I take when collecting souls?"

You cannot always be successful at absorbing souls -- there will undoubtedly be occasions where matters take a different path.

Furthermore, you will not be able to continuously absorb souls from weak evil creatures. If you keep trying, your soul crystal will refuse it. Once it reaches a certain level, it will want the souls of stronger evil creatures. If you think you have reached that point, it is time to set your sights higher.

If you try to use two soul crystals on a monster, they will conflict with each other, and you will be unable to use them absorb souls anymore.

Remember that different crystals have varying effects on different weapons. In other words, a weapon can have three types of special powers depending on the color of the Soul Crystal used to enhance it, and the enhancement will be different depending on the weapon...

Take this Red Soul Crystal. Collect souls into it and take it to a blacksmith along with the weapon you wish to enhance. The more souls you collect in the crystal, the greater your weapon's enhancement will be.

You probably already know that you can carry up to 10 spirits in the Soul Crystal.

There is, however, a way to absorb more than 10 spirits into a stone! This is a secret we only share with those we consider qualified, and this certainly seems to describe you!

A crystal that has already absorbed 10 souls will reject the spirit of an ordinary devil. But a certain, much more powerful spirit... Well, that's another story!

• "A more powerful spirit?"

For your information, if you're using a Soul Crystal of level 10 or above, you no longer need to target a monster before you kill it. A Soul Crystal of this level is self-targeting. In other words, it will absorb souls on its own...

Of course, you can still only use one Soul Crystal at a time.

You must slay either Baium, Zaken, Anakim or Lilith so that additional souls can be absorbed into the level 10 Soul Crystal. If you do so, it can become level 11 (a level 11 Soul Crystal can become level 12). Their souls are so powerful that it is said that the Soul Crystals of a whole adventuring party can absorb the soul.

Level 11 and 12 Soul Crystals can be obtained from Raid bosses like Beast Lord Behemoth, Roaring Skylancer, Minas Arnor, Eilhalder Von Hellman, Krajian-Padisha Sobekk, Priest Chloe of Antharas, Siren and Tyrannosaurus. But it is not easy to absorb their souls compared to Baium, Zaken, Anakim and Lilith, and their souls are weaker -- only one member of the party that defeated them can absorb the soul.

Although you can get level 12 Soul Crystals that way, it is much more difficult to obtain a level 13 Soul Crystal...

If you slay Valakas, Antharas, Scarlet van Halisha, Ember or Anakazel, you can obtain a level 13 Soul Crystal. But it will not be easy to successfully absorb the souls of Ember and Anakazel.

If you slay Scarlet van Halisha, Balor, Antharas or Valakas, you can obtain Soul Crystals as high as level 14. But where Balor is concerned, that's easier said than done!

If you slay Valakas, Antharas, Beleth, Scarlet van Halisha, Ekimus or Tiat, you can obtain Soul Crystals as high as level 15 or 16.

Also, we recently discovered that if you defeat Hekaton Prime, Aenkinel or Queen Shyeed, you can obtain a level 13 or 14 Soul Crystal.<br

In order to make a level 13 Soul Crystal into a level 14 Soul Crystal, you must defeat a monster with a strong spirit, such as Valakas, Antharas, Scarlet von Halisha or Baylor. However, unlike the spirits of Valakas, Antharas and Scarlet von Halisha, Baylor's spirit is difficult to absorb, potentially resulting in a cursed Soul Crystal. If that happens, you must journey to the legendary blacksmith Shaddai on Hellbound to get the curse lifted.

As far as we know, the monsters you can obtain souls from at the Watcher's Tomb are the Malruk Knights, Malruk Berserkers, Malruk Lords, Limal Karinnesses, Kariks, Pytan Knights, and Pytans.

Be warned: You cannot keep absorbing souls from weak monsters. If you only collect the souls of weak monsters, the soul crystal will begin to deny them. Once the soul crystal reaches a certain stage, it will desire souls from stronger monsters. If you think that you are no longer collecting the souls, you should try looking for stronger monsters.

It seems that all of the evil creatures inhabiting Eva's Underwater Garden are appropriate soul donors.

We have worked many years on the problem and have finally developed a method of enhancing weapons. A weapon that has been enhanced using our process bestows additional strength on its user.

To bestow special abilities to a weapon, you need to have a soul containing a certain amount of magical power. If you collect monster souls in the Soul Crystal that I give you, and bring it to a Blacksmith, they will infuse special abilities into a weapon by placing the magic souls collected in Soul Crystal into it.

Blacksmiths in each village are all aware of this, so all you need to do is collect the souls and bring them to the Blacksmiths. However, I have heard that there may be additional costs.

For your information, they say that the monsters you can collect souls from are in Northern Oren, the Forest of Mirrors, Giant's Cave, the Devasted Castle, the Upper Level of The Tower of Insolence, Watcher's Tomb, the Garden of Eva and Devil's Isle.

When a creature's energy is low apply the crystal to him. His soul will be drawn into the crystal. Then, the soul of the evil creature will get pulled towards the Soul Crystal. Afther that if you kill the evil creature, its body and soul will get separated and its soul will be collected into the Soul Crystal. Each crystal can contain up to 10 souls. A more precise explanation would be that it can contain up to 10 souls with regular usage. I will tell you the detailed story later when you bring back the Soul Crystal with 10 souls.
