Walkthrough
Taking back the Soup
Guard Stan thinks that the way to defeat the Sel Mahum is to take away their soup. Use foul fruit to poison the soup, weakening the Sel Mahum. The effect of the fruit will last for 3 minutes. Then defeat Sel Mahum to gather at least 100 full soup barrels and head back to Guard Stan of Oren Village.

Have you tried the Sel Mahum's salmon soup yet?
No wonder they are so deadly in combat, with soup like that inspiring them to great feats of strength.
- Agree about the power of soup.
Hello, my friend. We go way back, it is true. We've laughed, we've cried. I told you about my wife, and how she has long toenails. But I can't ask you for any favors right now.
(Only characters level 82 or above who have completed It Smells Delicious can take this quest.)
Know what? No soup for them! I eat the soup because I protect the village, I need that deliciousness in my belly to keep strong and sharp.
We need to keep the Sel Mahum from using the power of the soup. I sure could use your help with that. Will you answer the call to defend my soup?
- Agree to help him.
Alright, here's the plan. I want you to collect as many of their soup barrels as you can find. You'll find them on the Sel Mahum Squad Leaders, the biggest soup eaters of them all. The Chef will probably have some too. There are some Sel Mahum Guards that guard the Chef, 'cause that's what guards do (I should know, I'm a guard). They'll also probably be carrying barrels with them.
Here, I'll give you these untasty, foul fruits. All you have to do is find a campfire where soup is cooking and toss them in. When the monsters eat it, they'll get sick and much easier to beat!
Bring me at least 100 barrels and I'll give you something neat. Bring me more and maybe I'll give you something neater!
Did you get lost? Are you out of untasty fruits? Did you change your mind? What is it? What? Tell me?! Okay, so go to Sel Mahums already.
- Ask for more foul fruits.
Well, here's some more. Just tell me when you run out again. No, I'm not mad. You know, I don't do this for personal gain, I do it for the honor and safety of Oren Village!
You came back! You crushed their spirits and took their soup, right? And you did a good job protecting this village.. which is supposed to be my job.
Your work should be compensated so I'll make you a good deal. I'll count two empty soup containers as one full soup container. So let's soup it up! Unless you want more untasty fruits...
(500 full soup containers)
(100 full soup containers)
- Icarus Trident recipe or its ingredients
- Sealed Moirai Armor recipe or its ingredients
- Ask for more foul fruits.
Nice try, buster! But I know soup!! Your reward is only payable when I get more than 500 containers completely filled with soup. Speaking of soup, soup is good… Will you bring me more?
- Say you will bring more.
- Say you will quit.
Here. I don't want to give you junk. I'll prepare something better next time. After all, I kind of like you. Do we still have a deal?
- Say you will collect more.
- Say you will quit.
No soup, NO DEAL!! Do not think you can collect your reward without bringing me more than 100 containers completely filled with soup? You should bring more!
- Say you will bring more.
- Say you will quit.
Here. I don't want to waste your time. I'll try to prepare something else next time. I hope we are still partners?
- Say you will collect more.
- Say you will quit.
Thanks. Just like before, defeat Sel Mahum Squad Leaders, Chefs, and Guards, and bring me their crusty soup containers.
And if you need more foul fruits, I've got a pocket full of them.
Don't be a quitter! Imagine if they quit while working on the recipe for salmon soup, huh?? Think of that! I won't give you any reward either, being a quitter will be your only reward, quitter. Well?
- Say you will collect more.
- Say you will quit.
I get it, all of it. Because of the spirit a warrior has after eating tasty Salmon Soup, the Sel Mahums are becoming a fierce fighting unit. One that this village is threatened by. See? I smart one.I'd really like some soup.
It's great with crackers!
I know what you're saying. For a guard, I'm so very smart. The highly trained Sel Mahums are eating delicious salmon soup EVERYDAY! This makes them practically invincible in battle. They are a threat this village can no logner ignore.
I'm not afraid. I'm just hungry.
