Grim Collector

Grim Collector is a repeatable, solo quest in Lineage 2 Scryde for characters of level 15–26. It starts with Curtis in Town of Gludio.

Legend says that there is someone who collects bits and pieces of undead things. What could he be thinking?

Grim Collector walkthrough

The quest for the skeletons, Grim Collector, for adena. Start level: 15. Start location: Gludio. Start NPC: Guard Curtis (Curtis). No requirements. Repeatable. No race restrictions, any race can do it. Reward: adena.

  1. Town of Gludio. Take the quest from Guard Curtis.

The quest is taken at level 15 from Guard Curtis, who stands at the southern exit from Gludio. Attention! This quest is relevant only for the C3 chronicles and lower, because in the C4 chronicles the developers cut the reward of this quest heavily, as crowds of bots constantly farmed adena precisely with it. Curtis tells you that from the skeletons and zombies of the Ruins of Agony and the Ruins of Despair spare parts drop, that is, skulls, bones and other necromantic stuff that sells well. By rumours there is somebody in town by the name of Samed who is interested in such a purchase. Samed stands quite close, behind the round little house.

  2. Talk to Samed. You receive: Anatomy Diagram.

An addition: though this quest has appeared in your quest list, with all the parts that are knocked out of the mobs listed there, if you go to beat them at once, nothing will drop for you. First you have to talk to Samed. But that is for the inattentive, such as me, because Curtis says plainly that you have to go not to the mobs but to Samed. Samed gives you the Anatomy Diagram, which helps to identify the parts of those zombies and skeletons. We fly to the location and farm the mobs.

  3. Ruins of Agony (teleport from Town of Gludio). Hunt Skeleton Tracker (lv. 17), Skeleton Tracker Leader (lv. 18), Skeleton Scout (lv. 19), Skeleton Bowman (lv. 20), Ruin Zombie (lv. 15), Ruin Zombie Leader (lv. 16) until you have: Skull, Rib Bone, Spine, Arm Bone, Thigh Bone.

The mobs in the Ruins of Agony: Tracker Skeleton, Tracker Skeleton Leader, Skeleton Scout, Skeleton Bowman, Ruin Zombie, Ruin Zombie Leader. The list of mobs may not match the chronicles you play, as many mobs were renamed there. The items that drop from the mobs: Skull, Rib Bone, Arm Bone, Spine, Thigh Bone, Zombie Head, Zombie Heart and Zombie Liver. By my observations it is the skulls that drop worst of all. The mobs with the word Spartoi in their name do not count for this quest, which Samed tells you plainly.

  4. Ruins of Despair (teleport from Town of Gludio). Hunt Shield Skeleton (lv. 15), Skeleton Infantryman (lv. 16), Zombie Soldier (lv. 19), Zombie Warrior (lv. 22) until you have: Zombie Head, Zombie Heart, Zombie Liver.

The mobs in the Ruins of Despair: Shield Skeleton, Skeleton Infantryman, Zombie Soldier, Zombie Warrior.

  5. Town of Gludio. Talk to Varsak. You receive: Complete Skeleton.

If you farm one item of each kind from the skeletons (those are all the names without the word Zombie), the NPC Varsak, who stands next to the teleport in the town of Gludio, can assemble this set into one body, Complete Skeleton. The chance of assembly is not 100%.

  6. Return to Samed to complete the quest.

And now about the saddest thing, that is, about handing the items to Samed and about the reward. By rumours, before C3 2000 adena was given for a whole body, and however many assembled bodies you handed in, the reward was always the number of bodies multiplied by 2000. Starting from C3 it is all different (or from C4, I no longer remember; the last time I did the quest was on Interlude, and all the following figures are from there). Samed has two lines in the dialogue: to hand in assembled bodies and to hand in body parts. For a whole body (one) he now gives 884 adena; do you think you will get 8840 adena for 10 bodies? Not a chance: for 10 bodies he gives only 3953 adena. It would be logical to hand in one complete body at a time, but Varsak does not assemble bodies one by one, so I do not even know what to advise you. Probably, if you play on C4 and higher, you have to find some other source of income.

  1. Collecting Corpses

While discussing the ruins, Guard Curtis speaks of some good work and tells you about Samed. Visit Samed and talk about Curtis. You'll be asked to run an errand.

If you are thinking of going to the ruins, I can give you an errand that you will find rewarding. I can't tell you about it right now, but if you stop by later on I'll tell you in private.

(Quest for characters level 15 and above.)

If you are thinking of going to the ruins, I can give you an errand that you will find rewarding. Just recently, I spoke with Samed, who lives near the edge of the village ... He asked me to refer a few skilled friends to him, when guards or mercenary soldier troops were dispatched near the ruins.

I myself have helped him out a few times. The job is a little unpleasant, but ... the pay is good. What do you say, do you want to give it a try?

  • Say you will take the job

Go to Samed to get all the details. If you meet him, tell him that Curtis sent you. Then he'll know I sent you and will give you the job.

I wouldn't tell anyone you are working for Samed. So I hope you won't tell anyone that you received the job from me. Do you understand what I'm saying?

You haven't met Samed yet? Look now, I personally guarantee that this is a job that pays very well! Someone with your skills could earn big money. Of course, you'll have to work so that no one notices you ...

So hurry up and find Samed. If you meet him, tell him that Curtis sent you.

I see you've talked with Samed. It is a bit unpleasant, but ... selling the bones and organs of those who are already dead should not cause any sort of real problem. And it doesn't hurt anyone, right?

What could a humble person like me have to ask you? It would be nice if you just left me alone so I could live quietly...

  • Say that Curtis sent you

Hmm? So you came to me for a job. Well, are you thinking of going to the ruins? If you find me a few things from there, I will generously reward you afterwards. Though I am not sure whether you will come back alive from that place that crawls with zombies and skeletons.

You must find me corpse pieces. Of course there are many corpses in the graveyard, but if you are caught disturbing the graves and pulling out coffins, you will be considered a witch and be burnt at the stake. So there is no choice but to take the living corpses from the undead.

Why do I need corpse pieces? Don't try to know the reason. Haven't you heard that curiosity killed the cat? All you have to do is find what I need and take the money.

  • Ask about the corpse pieces

Collect corpse pieces from the Ruins of Despair or the Ruins of Agony. If you don't know how to find the ruins, ask Guard Curtis or Guard Babenco. From the zombies, bring their head, heart, and liver. From the skeletons, bring the skull, spine, rib, arm bone, and thigh bone.

I also need bone pieces, but actually I need a Complete Skeleton of Human form more. Unfortunately, when you fight with the undead, their body shatters so it will be impossible to find a Complete Skeleton. But the person that took this job before you found one somehow.

Ah, and don't bring back anything from the spartoi. Spartoi are his minions... It is better not to make him angry.

You have returned already? I see you have not found the items I asked you for. I am very disappointed...

I will explain to you again, so listen carefully. Go to the Ruins of Despair or the Ruins of Agony and find me the corpse pieces of the undead and I will give you an ample reward. If you don't know how to find the ruins, ask Guard Curtis or Guard Babenco.

  • Say you will quit.
  • Say you will continue.

Did you come unseen by the guards? Do you have the items I asked you for? Give them to me before the smell of decay fills the village!

  • Calculate items
  • Say you will quit

You seem exhausted from dealing with the dead souls. Well, it may have been too difficult for someone like you, who has lived only in the bright world. But I keep my promises, don't I? I will compensate you for the number of items you have brought. I have put the money in this coin purse, so make sure you tuck it in your pocket.

You must be swearing to yourself that you will never do such an unpleasant job again, right? I can tell just from your eyes. However, you may have to come to me in the end. You will realize in no time that there is no other job that pays as much.

Then I will pay you according to the number of corpse pieces you have brought. Keep up the good work.

Ah! And let me give you one word of advice. You do not need to be frightened by the undead of the ruins. They move by the power of black magic, but they are really just decayed pieces of meat. If you think of it that way, there is no reason to be afraid, right?

Ohh! You brought back a Complete Skeleton! You haven't dug up some cemetery, have you ? Well, hand it over to me before the villagers see!

  • Calculate Complete Skeleton
  • Calculate corpse pieces
  • Say you will quit

As I promised, I will compensate you according to the number of remains. I have filled this pouch full of coins so keep it safe.

Looking at your pocket, I see you have many small corpse pieces in addition to Complete Skeletons. Give them to me before the smell of decay fills the village!

Our family has been doing this work for generations. However, there are hardly any people who look for undertakers these days. It is because the priests of Einhasad encourage cremation. However, sometimes, there are a few who come to follow the old customs.

Have you come to me for a funeral? Is there anything I can do for you?

  • Ask to assemble a skeleton

I'm sorry, but that is impossible. To recompose a skeleton to human form, you must have all five parts: the skull, rib, spine, arm bone and thigh bone.

By the way, you don't work for Samed, do you? It would be better to stay away from him. Bad rumors always follow him -- that he is a student of the evil Wizard Hardin or a servant of the devil Beleth. That is why people avoid him.

I am not sure the bone pieces are from the same person, but ... At any rate, I'll try to recompose the skeleton. This is the least we can do to put the angry spirit of a person who died at war to rest. Please give him or her a proper funeral.

But ... You don't work for Samed, do you? It would be better to keep your distance from him. Bad rumors always follow him -- they say he is a student of the black magician Hardin or a servant of the devil Beleth. People avoid him for a reason.

Ah! Oh dear ... Forgive me! The bone was too old ... It got smashed while I was trying to recompose the skeleton.
