Quest: Fate’s Whisper

Fate’s Whisper is a one-time, solo quest in Lineage 2 C2: Age of Splendor for characters of level 75+. It starts with Reorin in Skyshadow Meadow.

Subclass quest, part 1 walkthrough

Fate's Whisper is the first quest in the chain for getting a subclass. It is taken at level 75 from Reorin, who is in Skyshadow Meadow (TP from Oren). It gives the Star of Destiny item and a low A-grade weapon.

Four raid bosses

Skyshadow Meadow (teleport from Town of Oren). Take the quest from Maestro Reorin.
The old dwarf has certain problems with hitting the bottle and has therefore drunk away some of his belongings, which we now have to collect.
The Cemetery. Kill Shilen's Messenger Cabrio (lv. 66) to get: Reiria's Soul Orb.
First of all we have to go to the Royal Cemetery and kill the raid boss. We TP to the Seal of Shilen and run either through the Cemetery or around it, by the road to the left and up. We run onto the fenced clearing and sit down to wait until somebody kills Cabrio. You do not have to take part in the raid at all: it is enough to wait until someone kills the RB, then talk to the chest that appears, Coffer of the Dead, and get the quest item from it.
Skyshadow Meadow (teleport from Town of Oren). Return to Maestro Reorin.
We carry the item to Reorin and get a new task: to kill three raid bosses that live in the Tower of Insolence, Death Lord Hallate on the third floor, Kernon on the eighth and Longhorn Golkonda on the 11th floor of the ToI.
Tower of Insolence (teleport from Town of Aden). Kill Death Lord Hallate (lv. 66) to get: Hallate's Infernium Scepter.
For me this is the favourite part of the quest: hanging out in the ToI, chatting while waiting for the RB, farming and so on.
Kill Kernon (lv. 66) to get: Kernon's Infernium Scepter.
Kill Longhorn Golkonda (lv. 66) to get: Golconda's Infernium Scepter.
The RBs can be killed in any order, you can hop between the floors as the bosses respawn, and you do not have to do the killing yourself: after the RBs there remain the chests Chest of Hallate, Chest of Kernon and Chest of Golkonda, and after talking to the chests we get the scepters. Each boss leaves a chest of its own: Chest of Hallate, Chest of Kernon and Chest of Golkonda. Take the scepter from the chest, not from the body.
Skyshadow Meadow (teleport from Town of Oren). Return to Maestro Reorin.
We hand the scepters to maestro Reorin.

Tools of the maestro

Town of Oren. Find Warehouse Freightman Cliff in the warehouse. You receive: Infernium Varnish.
We run to Oren and talk to the NPC who stands in the warehouse of Oren.
Skyshadow Meadow (teleport from Town of Oren). Return to Maestro Reorin.
Town of Aden. Find Head Blacksmith Ferris in the smithy. You receive: Maestro Reorin's Hammer.
Next our way lies to the smithy of Aden, to the head blacksmith, from whom we have to take the hammer and carry it to Reorin again.
Skyshadow Meadow (teleport from Town of Oren). Return to Maestro Reorin.
Town of Oren. Find Trader Zenkin in the weapon and armor shop.
And here the trouble begins. We come to Oren to the huckster for the Maestro Reorin's Mold. item, but he declares that he has sold it to Kaspar, who stands in Hardin's Private Academy (as you enter the cave, to the right).
Hardin's Academy. Talk to Master Kaspar. You receive: Pipette Knife.
Kaspar will give the quest item only to the one who brings him the blood of the epic raid boss Baium, collected with a special little knife (which everybody calls "the pipette"). We agree and go to do the quest for the passage to Baium, An Arrogant Search.
We pass that quest and squeeze our way by whatever means to the 14th floor of the ToI, where the Angelic Vortex stands (by the time I do the subclass quest I usually already have summoners parked on all the key floors of the ToI). We need to find out Baium's respawn time and show up at least half an hour before it, simply to size up the situation at the vortex: who is going to fight, with whom, who has come to farm and so on. The main thing here is to convince those who will be controlling the approaches to the vortex when the epic respawns that you are not their enemy. In short, our task when Baium respawns is to TP inside, wait until Baium is woken up, prick him with the pipette and teleport to town. As it usually goes, there are always those who did not make it inside. If such chars have mass skills they can still prick Baium through the door by using such a skill, but on condition that Baium is led up to the doors.
Talk to Master Kaspar again. You receive: Maestro Reorin's Mold..
But we have strayed a little, let us go on. Having pricked Baium, we get the Red Pipette Knife into the inventory, hand it to Kaspar, get the promised mold from him and carry it to Reorin.

The new weapon

Skyshadow Meadow (teleport from Town of Oren). Return to Maestro Reorin.
Reorin asks you to bring him 984 B-grade crystals (Crystal: B Grade), and after receiving the crystals he asks for a top B-grade weapon. It is better to bring all of that together, right after we have been through Baium.
Return to Maestro Reorin to complete the quest. You receive: Star of Destiny.
In the list we choose the weapon we have brought him, then we choose the A-grade weapon we want to get in return. The exchange takes place, and the item appears in your quest inventory. For the last step bring one of the top B-grade weapons from his list. Reorin melts it down and returns a top A-grade weapon of the same kind together with the star.

Tips

Some crafty admins, so as not to bother with bugs, simply close the 14th floor and move the vortex to the 13th, to the place where the raid boss Cherub Galaxia respawns. Then all the fighting happens on the 13th floor.
Kaspar wants a sample of Baium's blood. Enter Baium's room at the top of the Tower of Insolence (the quest An Arrogant Search gives the pass) and hit Baium at least once with Pipette Knife equipped: it turns into Red Pipette Knife. The boss does not have to be killed.
The raid bosses have long respawn times and are hunted by many clans. Ask in clan or alliance chat when they are planned: you only need to be in the room at the kill.
High Five adds a way around Baium: Kaspar also accepts 30 pieces of cloth stained with the blood of the angels and Platinum Tribe monsters of the Tower of Insolence.

Rewards

Quest journal

Step 1
The soul of Maestro Leolin's dearly departed wife is being held hostage by demons. He asks that you slay Messenger Cabrio and recover the soul orb. He was last seen lurking in the south part of the cemetery.
Step 2
Maestro Leolin requests that you recover his three infernium scepters from the demons Death Lord Halart, his aide Kernon and Oxhorn General Golconda. They may be found in the Tower of Insolence.
Step 3
Maestro Leolin asks that you go to Warehouse Freightman Cliff in Oren Castle Town and obtain infernium varnish so he may continue his enhancement of the infernium scepters.
Step 4
Maestro Leolin asks that you recover his hammer from Head Blacksmith Ferris in Aden Castle Town, who confiscated it after expelling the maestro from the guild.
Step 5
Go to Trader Zenkin in Oren Castle Town and recover the maestro-level mold that he bought from Leolin.
Step 6
Trader Zenkin informs you that Leolin's mold has already been sold to Master Kaspar of Hardin's Academy. Try to obtain the mold from him.
Step 7
Master Kaspar offers to exchange Leolin's mold for a sample of the blood of Baium. This ancient emperor can be found sealed in a room atop the Tower of Insolence. It is said that he has become something of a monster. Magister Hanellin will tell you how to enter his room.
Step 8
Take the mold back to Maestro Leolin.
Step 9
B grade crystals are required to process melted infernium. Obtain and take 1,420 of them to Maestro Leolin.
Step 10
You must melt a B grade weapon and mix it with infernium to create a new alloy to neutralize the harmful aura of infernium. Obtain and take a B grade weapon to Maestro Leolin.
