Destroy Plague Carriers

Destroy Plague Carriers is a repeatable, solo quest in Lineage 2 Scryde for characters of level 18–24. It starts with Ellenia in Elven Village.

The Elves have never forgiven the ratmen for introducing plague into their sacred Elven Forest. Not to mention their unholy alliance with the Dark Elves that resulted in the deaths of thousands of Elves! Master Ellenia is recruiting volunteers to destroy the filthy beasts.

Destroy Plague Carriers walkthrough

The quest Destroy Plague Carriers, for adena. Start level: 18. Start location: the village of the light elves. Start NPC: Ellenia (Ellenia). No requirements. Repeatable. Only for light elves. Reward: adena.

  1. Elven Village. Take the quest from Master Ellenia.

The quest for adena is available from level 18 and is taken from Ellenia, who stands in the temple of the light-eared.

  2. Elven Fortress (teleport from Elven Village). Hunt Sukar Wererat (lv. 18), Sukar Wererat Leader (lv. 19) until you have: Wererat's Fang.

The NPC sends you to the dungeon Elven Fortress to hunt the little rat mobs Sukar Wererat and Sukar Wererat Leader, from which the items Wererat's Fang drop. The drop from the ordinary mobs is very uneven: now not a single item from 8 mobs, now they pour in a row.

  3. Kill Varool Foulclaw (lv. 20) to get: Varool Foulclaw's Fang.

In one of the rooms of the location, along with the ordinary mobs, stands a quest one too, called Varool Foulclaw. It also has to be beaten for this quest. And the main part of the adena in the reward is precisely for the item Varool Foulclaw's Fang from this quest mob. The respawn of the quest mob is about every five minutes; the item dropped for me from it only at the fourth try. But while you wait for the respawn, it is advisable to farm a dozen items from the ordinary mobs: more adena is given for that as a bonus.

  4. Elven Village. Return to Master Ellenia to complete the quest.

When you have frolicked enough and are tired of it all (but only after you knock the item out of the quest mob), we return to the village to the start NPC and hand the quest in. For the fang of the quest mob 10k adena is given at once, for a set of 10 ordinary fangs a bonus of 5k adena, and everything else is accepted for pennies, so there is no sense in staying there long: knock out 10+1 items and fly at once to hand the quest in. And take it anew at once, if you still need adena. It is handy to do this quest together with the quest Blood Fiend. Not only are the mobs of these quests in neighbouring rooms, but the second quest can be done by any race except the dark elves, and a lot of adena is given for it, so it is easy to gather a party. And that matters, because before you reach the needed mobs you will have to bring down more than one ton of skeletons and other undead.

  1. Plague Carriers

The ratmen, known by Elves as "the plague carriers," were responsible for an epidemic in the Elven Forest and once fought on the side of the Dark Elves. Understandably, the Elves harbor great bitterness towards them. Master Ellenia asks you to kill the ratmen that are nesting in the Elven Underground Fortress. You must especially destroy Varool Foulclaw, their boss, and bring her back his fangs as proof. She has promised you a reward. Hunt the sukar wererats, the sukar wererat leaders and Varool Foulclaw.

Have you ever seen the race called the ratmen? We Elves call that lowly race "plague bringers." Originally no disease existed anywhere in the Elven Forest. But when the dirty ratmen entered our forest, they spread disease and plague, and we learned for the first time what it means to become ill and weak.

Their nest has recently been uncovered, and a group will be sent soon to eradicate them. We will surely drive the plague bringers out of our forest. But this is business between Elves and ratmen. I don't think the one of a foreign race, like yourself, should be involved.

But when the dirty ratmen entered our forest, they spread disease and plague, and we learned for the first time what it means to become ill and weak.

Moreover, the ratmen were paid to fight for the Dark Elves as mercenary soldiers during our war with the dark ones. Countless Elven brothers lost their lives to that disgusting race. Never can we forget or forgive the sins that they committed against us.

Heed my words ... there will come a day when those plague bringers will be destroyed. When that time comes, please take up your sword and join in the sacred task of dealing with the ratmen.

Now the time has come to destroy the plague bringers! Won't you participate in the sacred task of punishing the ratmen?

  • Say you will participate

Then I shall draw up our Contract. What you must do is to kill the ratmen and bring back their fangs as proof. I will compensate you for as many as you bring back. Furthermore, if you kill their leader Varool Foulclaw and bring back one of his fangs as proof, I will give you a great reward.

We should not leave any of them alive, those dirty villains that have polluted the Elven Forest with disease and collaborated with the dark race! In Eva's name, may they all receive the stillness of the grave! According to the sentinels, the ratmen nest is in the abandoned Elven Underground Fortress. If you do not know the way to the Elven Underground Fortress, ask Sentinel Starden. May the divine protection of Eva be with you.

The eradication of the plague bringers has begun! Please hurry to the abandoned Underground Elven Fortress. Do you remember the Contract you signed with me? Destroy the dirty ratmen and bring back their fangs as proof, and I will reward you for each item of proof you bring me. I will give you an exceptionally large reward if you kill their leader, Varool Foulclaw, and bring me one of his fangs.

  • Say you are going to go destroy them
  • Say you will end the Contract

I congratulate you upon your safe return, Fighter of the forest. Have you given the enemy of our race a harsh punishment they will not soon forget?

According to the terms of our Contract, I will reward you according to the number of fangs you have brought. I hope you will continue to fight for the brothers of the forest.

  • Say you will end the Contract
  • Say you will continue

I understand. You too, need rest. Rest under the shade of the Mother Tree and recover the strength of both your body and soul. Well then, may Eva's blessings be with you.

The fight must continue. We should not leave any of them alive, those dirty villains that have polluted the Elven Forest with disease and collaborated with the dark race. In Eva's name, may they all receive the stillness of the grave!
