Covert Business

Covert Business is a repeatable, solo quest in Lineage 2 Scryde for characters of level 10–16. It starts with Keef in Dwarven Village.

The Bronze Key Guild has dealt in rare ingredients for millennia. They're looking for someone to hunt bats for an important client.

Covert Business walkthrough

The quest Covert Business, for the ring Ring of Raccoon, SP and adena. Start level: 10. Start location: the dwarven village. Start NPC: Keef (Keef). No requirements. Repeatable. Only for dwarves. Reward: Ring of Raccoon (at the first hand-in), then SP and adena at the following ones.

  1. Dwarven Village. Find Bronze Key's Keef in the main hall of the village and take the quest.

The start NPC is Keef (still in the same elders' house).

  2. Western Mining Zone (teleport from Dwarven Village). Hunt Blade Bat (lv. 10), Barbed Bat (lv. 12) until you have: Bat Fang ×100.

You have to beat the mobs Blade Bat (they are on the way to the Western Mining Zone); for such a bat from one to three quest items Bat Fang are given, and if you go still farther and cross one more little river, Barbed Bat live there, for which up to four items are given. You have to collect 100 pieces in all. There is one nuance in this quest: all these bats are incomprehensible, now they fly about quietly and touch nobody, now they aggro like heaven knows what. Maybe it depends on the time of day, but I did not check it myself; if you are interested, check it yourselves. While doing this quest it is handy to take the quest Dreaming of the Skies too, because the mobs of both quests are next to each other on the same glades. The rings given as a reward in these two quests are needed to get the quest Tarantula's Spider Silk; you must have at least one of these rings.

  3. Dwarven Village. Return to Bronze Key's Keef in the main hall of the village to complete the quest. Hand over: Bat Fang ×100. You receive: Ring of Raccoon.

Having collected all the items, we return to the start NPC. At the first hand-in the little ring Ring of Raccoon and a little SP are given, at the following ones SP and adena. To be more exact, at the first hand-in 600 SP is given together with the ring, and at the following ones 2400 adena and 600 SP. As for me, that is too little.

  1. Hardin's Request

The notorious Black Mage Hardin has asked the Bronze Key Guild to gather bat fangs. For unknown reasons Elder Keef has accepted this request and begun covert dealings with Hardin. Hardin has asked them to slay blade bats or barbed bats and bring back 100 of their fangs. It's dirty work, but the warriors of the guild are happy to do it. You must be very discreet. Hunt blade bats and barbed bats.

    Go to: Western Mining Zone

  2. Return to Bronze Key's Keef

You've collected 100 bat fangs. Hurry and take them to Elder Keef of the Bronze Key Guild before anyone sees you.

    Go to: Bronze Key's Keef

You want work? It's true that we are overloaded at the moment, but according to guild rules, I cannot entrust any work to an outsider. I am sorry.

(Quest for Dwarven characters.)

As you know, the Bronze Key Guild travels the continent collecting rare materials. We received a request, and I'm looking for a person with the right qualification to manage the assignment.

I'm in urgent need of a person, but I can't give this job to just anybody in off the street ... It's hard to find reliable help these days. Do you have any friends for this job? Someone diligent, and responsible, and that can keep a secret.

I'm in urgent need of a person, but I can't give this job to just anybody in off the street ... It's hard to find reliable help these days.

But it seems like I can trust you. I am a good judge of character. I can tell what a person is like at a single glance. Let me see your eyes ... You do your work in silence no matter what others may think about it ... You seem to be that kind of person ... What do you think? Am I right? I want to give you a task. How does that sound? You want to give it a try?

  • Say you will take the task

Your job is to collect Bat Fangs. While wandering west of the Mine Field, you will often see blade bats and barbed bats. You will hunt them and bring me their fangs. You need to collect exactly 100 fangs.

I don't know what such an odd material is used for, but all we need to do is find the items that our clients want. Our guild members should be able to bring anything, even dragon scales, to our clients. That's our belief.

There's one thing I don't really like about this quest ... the client is Hardin, who has been branded as a black magician by the Humans. Things could become complicated if anyone finds out that our Guild is dealing with such a notorious person ... I hope you won't talk to anyone else about this. Do you understand what I'm saying?

I don't want you to come back here until the quest is complete. It is not good for us to be seen together. Come back when you have 100 Bat Fangs!

You've done well, my friend. You have brought me 100 Bat Fangs. Magnificent! I can send these to Hardin's Academy by this week's wagon. I will give you this ring for your work on behalf of the Bronze Key Guild. This token signifies that our Guild trusts you.

Actually, I had a cup of tea with Hardin few days ago. Contrary to the rumors, he was a well-mannered, pleasant person. Having a business relationship with such a person is actually investing in the future. We never know when we'll be put into a tight spot, just like when we were attacked by Orcs before ... We need to have few solid allies as a simple precaution, don't you think?
