Sub-class on Lu4
Mecánicas del juego · Actualizado: 30.09.2026
Basics
On Lu4 the subclass system lets one character have up to three extra classes besides the main one.
Each subclass is a profession of its own, with its own level, skills and progress. When you switch classes, the character keeps the shared inventory and equipment.
Keep in mind that the subclass system on Lu4 is still being actively developed. This article will grow as the mechanics are added.
System Overview
- A character can have up to 3 subclasses.
- They open after a quest at level 60.
- A new subclass starts at level 20.
- The next subclass becomes available once the current one reaches level 52.
- You can switch classes in a peace zone.
- A subclass can be replaced at any level.
Access Quest
To open subclasses, complete the new quest Breath of Magic.
- Characters of level 60 and above can take the quest
- The starting NPC Othryx stands in the Aden Magic Guild
- The quest no longer needs a B-grade weapon

The quest gives you not only subclasses but also a useful item:
Core of Magic — A core of pure magic full of concentrated elemental power. Raises its owner's stats: Max HP +35, P. Def +10, M. Def +10, Bonus EXP +3%.
Obtaining a Subclass
Once the quest is done, subclasses open up.
To get a new subclass, go to the Grand Master / Magister of the new class and talk to them.
In the dialogue, pick Subclass > Add subclass.
- Subclasses have no race or class limits
- A new subclass starts at level 20 and already has its second profession
- Second-profession skills become available upon reaching level 40
- Second-profession tattoos (+4 -4) are available right after you get a new subclass
- The next subclass opens once the current one reaches level 52
Tattoos are described in detail in the article Tattoo Guide .
Switching Between Classes
There are two ways to switch between subclasses and the main class.
- Via an NPC
- Go to the Grand Master / Magister of the class you need and pick Sub-class > Switch subclass in the dialogue.
- Via the status window
- Open the character status window (Alt+T)
- In the top right part of the window, click the card of the class you want

Keep in mind this way of switching works only in a peace zone.
Replacing a Subclass
Each of the three subclasses can be replaced on its own.
To do it, go to the Grand Master / Magister of the class you need and talk to them.
In the dialogue, pick Sub-class > Cancel the current subclass, then choose a new subclass and confirm.
- The old subclass is deleted and can't be brought back
- You can replace a subclass at any level; it doesn't have to reach level 52
Subclass Skills
The subclass skill system is still in the works.
